So what is the deal with the new bad guy. He can take shots to the head and then beat the crap out of you? That didn't make sense to me.
This description is from the comics. He's obviously going to differ a bit but the term metahuman lends me to believe he was a product of the particle accelerator explosion.

Brick (Daniel "Danny" Brickwell) is a DC Comics villain and enemy of Green Arrow. He first appeared in Green Arrow vol.3, #40. He was created by Judd Winick and Phil Hester.
Although his origin has not been revealed, Brick is a metahuman with a reddish, stony skin that grants him invulnerability and super-strength. His success as an underworld kingpin is due to his brilliant criminal mind rather than his superhuman powers.
quote:
Brick's primary power is his invulnerability. He is able to easily withstand a surface-to-air missile strike and numerous attacks from Green Arrow. He also has an unproven level of super-strength: he clearly outmatched Green Arrow, but he did not or could not win with a single hit. Brick is also a highly effective criminal leader. He was able to gain control of Star City's entire underworld, and has great influence over the legal authorities as well.

He really gave it to diggle.

Diggle got a chin in him though! I felt bad when he said he still thinks of himself as Ollie's bodyguard and he failed him ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconwah.gif)

I expected Oliver not to make a real appearance for a couple episodes.

Alot better than the Flash episode last night. The flashbacks are getting old though. I groan every time i hear that whooshing sound and goes back in time

The flash backs are used to set up the story in the present though

Made me cry too. Poor dig.

Yeah I get that but just wish they would devote less time to it
I might be wanting more flashbacks though if they are going to start giving Black Canary more airtime

Isn't this the first time on Arrow that a Metahuman bad guy has been revealed? That is, if we don't count amped up strength as an actual super power.

I totally disagree. I will admit that I enjoyed the island flashbacks a lot more but the flashbacks are half the story on this show. I think we'll have them until the end of the show.

I don't think he is a metahuman on the show. Both bullets grazed him on his right side. I think the gun is tampered with. Gives him an aura of invincibility to his crew.

I thought the same thing when I watched it. Everyone is always shooting him with that same gun, and he seems very confident that he'll get to them before they can kill him.
Yeah we had superpowered mirakuru people (and yes super strength and practically indestructibility is a super power) last year, but I think Arrow will keep the superpowers to a some what minimum (for now at least). I think Brick will turn out to just be a regular human, but a pretty badass one that can whoop Diggle's arse.

I am guessing they will keep on for quite awhile. We still haven't seen Oliver really train yet or any explanation as to how he became such a great fighter. Plus he had to have spend a lot of time in Russia while he was gone, since he is so highly connected in the Russian mob.
Great episode though and I'm glad they are keeping the supernatural/magic type of things to a minimum. I just hope too many people don't become heroes and it becomes too jumbled. I like the story to stay focused around Oliver..
