A lot of stuff from the first few episodes start making sense and once you start to catch all of the connections and hidden jokes, you realize that Arrested Development is just on another level of comedy and can't be touched.

This was the original run in a nutshell. They made references to the first season in season 3.

Its truly a show that benefits hugely from online viewing.

To illustrate further, even if only 5% watched, its still a higher percentage than regular TV.

I think to truly illustrate, you would need to give the comparable numbers.

I think you could make a point that if AD had come out a few years later, when DVRs and online viewing were much more prevalent, it could've survived a little longer. Hell, the Office would've been cancelled in 2006 if it weren't for iTunes. AD is the kind of show where you probably miss 50% of the jokes if you can't rewind or rewatch an episode.

Funny show, but if you need viewers to sit through four episodes before the series or season starts to come together, you're working with a flawed model.

That's the perfect plan to have a popular cult following after your premature cancellation.

I'm sure that David Cross will come out and bitch at Netflix for failing to promote the series properly.

We had a thread about this exact point a while back. I also argued that Firefly would've probably made a run if this would have been available then.
