The only bad reviews ive really seen anywhere on it are from people that couldn't wait a couple episodes before passing judgement on it and instantaneously called it terrible
Exactly.. like WSJ
People that jump the gun on it are such idiots. Especially with season 4. Because of all the different characters' reference points, the puzzle starts coming together mid-season and then starts to really take the humor to the next level.
I'm in the process of watching the first couple episodes again with knowledge of what happens later.. and they are SO much better.

I worry about original programing being a success which would give them the idea to raise prices for everyone, even those who don't watch AD.

Why would any sane person not watch AD?

I gave it a shot years ago because I like Michael Cera but it just didn't click with me. To be fair, I only gave it an episode.

Dude.....thats like watching 10 minutes of (insert Wire, Breaking Bad Sopranos whatever youre in to) and turning it off because its not for you.
You have to give it more of a shot than that

I tried to watch The Wire and got turned off by some white cop talking to a street kid about some guy that was shot being being named Snot.

I wasn't feeling the new episodes yesterday and after the first two, I was thinking it was a huge mistake to bring AD back from the dead...but I have to say that the brilliance really starts to show after the Tobias episode. A lot of stuff from the first few episodes start making sense and once you start to catch all of the connections and hidden jokes, you realize that Arrested Development is just on another level of comedy and can't be touched. Modern Family, Curb, The Office, Big Bang Theory, etc. can't hold a candle.
It really is the only show that gets better the more times you view it.

I usually know if a show is for me after one episode. Ironically, I also gave up on Game of Thrones after one episode.

I let my netflix account lapse so I had to download all the episodes torrent file style. I'll try and watch them maybe this weekend.
But if critics aren't liking it then it must be good.

Theres literally no way to know if youll like AD or not after one episode.

It's unbelievably good.
It's like the writers didn't have the constraints of catering to a network audience and just went nuts.
It's gonna take a while for people to process it but in the end the brilliance will be appreciated.

One of these is nowhere near like the others

Yeah, I know. Just making an emphasis that some of the most popular comedies of today aren't on this level. Big Bang Theory is so far below AD that's its not even funny.

BBT is terrible.
It's so old formula.
Set up, joke, laugh track.
Over and over.

His name was Snot Boogie. White dude's name is Jimmy McNulty. I want to be mean to you for not even giving the show a chance, but to each his own. You will never come to know the why of Omar, the simplistic understanding of Clay Davis' "Sheeeeeeeet", or why we care so much about some Irish Mick from East Baltimore.
Honestly, your loss.
