For those of you who may not know, it's an independently produced, 100% crowd funded show about the life of Jesus of Nazareth told from the point of view of the people who knew Him. It isn't just your run of the mill, Christian media show where the characters are all cardboard cutouts spouting lines from the New Testament. This show makes the Apostles and Jesus come alive as real people with their own unique personalities. It's surprisingly well-written and strongly acted. And despite the low budget ($10 million per season) the production values are fairly solid.

Anyways...all of the episodes are available for free on the website that I will link below. The way they fund the project is by getting you to voluntarily "pay it forward" so that the show can continue to operate free of charge while also going toward funding future seasons (they plan on filming seven seasons altogether). You can also download The Chosen app to your phone and stream the episodes to your TV.

Yes. I was skeptical but am enjoying it greatly so far. Near the end of season 1.

We watched season 1 a few months ago. Like you, I was really surprised at the acting and production value for what it is.

Definitely recommend.

My wife and I watch and really enjoy it!

Sorta SPOILERS (cinematography, not plot related)

The 15 minute one-shot to open s2e3 was extremely well done.

Up to s2e2. Very well done except the dialogue can be kind of cheeseball at times. Also funny seeing all these middle eastern looking characters and extras then suddenly you see Tom and Karen from down the street walking through the marketplace

I need to go back and try to watch more. I really enjoyed season 1. Nicodemus was a real highlight of season 1.

But season 2 episode 3 really put me off of watching the show.
