Monster $93.6M opening wknd for #Aquaman in China. New all-time record for WB there beating all DC films. 4th biggest superhero debut ever. 4th largest opening for US film this year. Massive global #boxoffice run just getting started.

China Box Office: Aquaman set the biggest Saturday / single day record in December with $38.11M. It has already earned $62.17M in 2 days. It is looking to make $91M-plus on 3-day debut, breaking the December opening record in local currency. #Aquaman

$250M-plus should happen considering competitions are so weak in the next 2 weeks. $280M-plus can be expected.

2:36 AM - Dec 8, 2018

A lot of the box office analysts I follow are predicting 1 billion for this film. Insane. Comic book movies are unstoppable right now.

Must've cost Warner a fortune to pay all of those Chinese to go out and see Aquaman.

The Chinese are loving it, but they also love transformers films

Update: Aquaman earns 8.4/10 on Douban & 9.6/10 on Maoyan. 9.6/10 is the best audience score for HLW titles ever. Only Coco & Furious 7 did that high before.

If you still can’t understand what level it is, just imagining 8.4/10 on IMDb & A+ on CinemaScore. #Aquaman

This is going to make it kind of hard for WB to reboot the DCEU.

Does it have an overload of highlight-and bright-colored, shitty looking, kind of shadowy, blueish CGI?

Does it look like it has virtually no plot, shite character development, shite acting, shite writing, and looks like just one giant CGI ball of shite?

Does it have a kind of cheap, non-lasting, non-classic feel to the whole project and probably more than a few Chinese product placements in it?

Then if it has all of the above... The fricking Chinese audience will see the film in droves and their "critics" will rate it as the second coming of The Godfather.

Chinese audiences are horrific when it comes to taste in motion pictures. I guess maybe it's a side effect of a society totally built on disposable, kind of trashy, yet flashy, cheapness and nonoriginality due to nothing but stolen IP...

The Dceu's track record, the fact that a movie with superman batman wonder woman Aquaman flash Cyborg and others couldn't hit a billion, no real hype for it, competing against 2 other movies that will probably be better than Aquaman and your old nemesis rotten tomatoes.

If this does 300 mill+ Domestically, plus those China numbers, that's 600 million with just those 2 markets. I do think it'll come close to a billion.

Now you're backtracking. I never said it wouldn't come close to a billion, I said it wouldn't hit a billion.
