The story of the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III in 1973.

I'm 2 episodes in. While I know most of the history of these people, it's still intriguing to see it played out.

Donald Sutherland's performance is awesome.

I am, liking it so far. Agree about Donald Sutherland, always enjoy whatever he's in. I thought Brendan Fraser was really good in the 2nd episode as well.

Wife and I have. It’s really good. Sutherland steals the show, again.

Wow, the TD search function actually worked.

Agreed. He plays the callous, calculating patriarch incredibly well. Fraser's performance is a little...odd compared to other roles he's had, but I like his character.

I was unaware that this was based on actual events, so I have resisted urges to research more.

The disjointed chronology can be slightly confusing at times, but the last episode really helped integrate the previous ones.

Thanks for the reminder. Odd that it came at the same time is the movie which was awful.

Ahhh, okay, now I understand. I had heard there was a Getty movie out there and upon searching I came across this FX series. I thought that I was mistaken about it being a movie. So there is a series and a movie.

Edit - I just love shows about eccentric rich people. Is there a movie or series about that Durst fella? Who is arguably one of the weirdest rich people of all time. Or was that HBO documentary just too awesome to try and dramatize??

Yes i quite enjoy it! I've watched the first 4 episodes and they're vastly superior to the film 'All the Money in the World.' The movie is really bad and you feel like you're watching actors, though Michelle Williams is pretty solid. On the TV show, it feels much grittier and much more real, IMO.

All Good Things is a movie about Robert Durst and his story. Stars Ryan Gosling and Kirsten Dunst. The guy who directed it, Andrew Jarecki, is the same guy who directed and interviewed Durst in the Jinx (HBO doc).

The episode this week (ep 6) was easily for me the best one yet. Donald Sutherland is crushing this role. I have watched every episode and have enjoyed them, but this week was so good.

My wife and I have been watching it, and I really enjoy it. I haven't seen last night's episode yet. We're going to Italy Friday, so it's been pretty cool to watch this right before we go

That's cool. I've never been to Italy so I'm not familiar with the geography, but one of the scenes in the episode is a place that I would want to visit if I went to Italy. Looks cool AF. This isn't any spoiler, but it's a great scene in a cool ancient Roman venue which I think is close to Rome.
