Like every other player, by going through the minors first? I bet you will see one within 20 years, and they will probably be Japanese.

Damn, I just saw this commercial during the Saints/Raiders game.
This has unintentional comedy written all over it. I know TV and movies are make-believe-land...but this will be an hour of eye-rolling and cheesy dialogue.

Between this and Lethal Weapon Fox has some bonafide hits on their hands

I wonder how fast she can throw

Assuming it makes it to episode nine, I'm sure we'll see an entire storyline around having to lay down a bunt in an extra innings situation.

Will she have to hit if she's in the NL?

Funny you should say that, since FOX came under fire in the 90's for creating the "FOX Model" that WB and UPN followed.
FOX had early success with Martin, In Living Color, Living Single, then once they were on the map they purged the black programming. WB and UPN did the exact same thing. Start off with some black programming to get a foothold, then switch to white shows.

This is the thing. There will be many people who watch this and know nothing of biology, dimorphism and gender differences and think that this storyline is perfectly plausible.

Do you think her character will be straight? Or will a subplot be about how half of the locker room is madly in love with her and it becomes a giant live octagon?

Would be much better if it were about a qb.

There is a show on Pedolodeon about it. Bella and the Bulldogs.

Helen Hunt would have to come out of retirement.

If they were going to make it a little more realistic, they would have cast a dykeish looking character. Someone like Leslie Jones.

Or at least, make the rubber 43 feet and and hire Jennie Finch...and the TV show is that she plays in some multi-sex pro softball league and mows down guys.
But this show? You might as well put Henry Rowengartner on the mound in a TV show and say "based on a true story."

Will not watch. I was a softball pitcher who threw in the 50s from only 40 feet away. No fricking way I could ever pitch a baseball well enough to make a high school JV team, much less a college or MLB team.
A knuckle ball (that someone mentioned) might not be that taxing on the arm, but you still have to get it 60 ft 6 inches and in the strike zone. Phil Niekro had issues with that on occasion.

Rookie of the Year was more believable with an 11 year old pitcher.
