I havn't watch a lot of anime, but I did love Claymore.

What would you guys recommend for someone that is similar in style and substance to Claymore?

Black Lagoon
Hellsing Ultimate
Samurai Champloo
Cowboy Bebop

Thats the best I can come up with right now.

I'd start with Black Lagoon. You won't be disappointed.

Alright, I'll start with Black Lagoon. But if it doesn't have petite ladies with outrageously oversized boobs, then we gonna e-fight.

Its about a smuggling crew called Lagoon Company. This is the badass gunman on their crew, Revy:

To sum up the show, its gore, cursing, badass gunfights, and just not giving a frick. Its a 10/10 in my book.

Make sure to watch it in English.

She passes the boob test.

Could you recommend a site that I could watch it on? I just checked Netflix; it's not on there.

Afro Samurai (Samuel L "MFing" Jackson anime)

Other series that are a little different:

If you are gonna Netflix it, I recommend starting with Trigun, but you couldn't go wrong with any of them.

Enjoy.

If you delete links to any sort of not so legal site, then I need to go through my posting history. Plenty of links to nyaa and tokyotosho just in this thread.

I have read from others that Claymore is similar to Berserk.

And yes, I'm recommending it in this thread again.

I haven't watched Berserk yet either, fwiw. My backlog gets bigger everytime I get on MAL it seems. I've also been downloading a shite ton of shows the past few days since I won't be able to once I go back to Auburn (damn university torrenting laws)

I watched the movies. Should I still watch the series?

FYI, I haven't updated the OP in a long while.

I remember y'all talking about it, but did you ever check out Higurashi no Naku Koro ni? Watched 3 episodes last night and I'm intrigued. Starts off humorous, but I have a feeling shite is about to hit the fan.

Series is not as brutal as the movies, but much closer to the manga. I really only thought the last movie was any good. They skip a lot of the Golden Age to pack into three two hour movies. Also I think the series starts out much better. Series is better storywise, but movies are prettier.

Still the manga is much better than either.

It's a 4 episode formula. It starts normal and kind but goes crazier with each newer episode.

I've seen bits and pieces of Higurashi (mostly from youtube vids. shite gets crazyyyy), but I've never sat an started watching the series yet. But yeah like oauron said, it's full of miniarcs that reset after a certain amount of time. And I tried to keep from spoiling it all for myself but basically the same period of time keeps occurring, but with different events each time (the way they should have done the endless eight arc)

A lot of people call the manga the GOAT, so I'm gonna have to start that soon. I've been reading through a bunch of light novels in preparation for adaptations that are about to be made (Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance & Madan no Ou to Vanadis) as well as the new High School DxD volume and I'm still trying to catch up with Index as well. Then manga-wise, I'm also reading The Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer (which could be amazing if it were turned into a Gainax anime, no lie). My backlog is ridiculous right now adding up my manga and anime selections

I'd agree, but it's the only manga I've ever read apart from Akira. It's the only time I've ever watched an anime and told myself afterwards, damn I gotta read the manga. The only thing is Miura takes a long time to put out new episodes, but the quality is incredible.
