I watched the first 10 eps of mirai nikki and really liked it. Some WTF moments to be sure.

Was released in theaters in Japan awhile ago. I haven't checked lately but would think there would be some ways to obtain copies of the Japanese dvd or bluray online if it's released.

I guess I can watch the first episode of Bleach in honor of this. I haven't read or watched any of the big 3 outside of some early Naruto.

Early naruto was great but kishi has really ruined it the past couple years.
Bleach has always been a pretty solid anime if you avoid the fillers. Hopefully they bring it back to cover this last arc. It is easily the best since the soul society arc and its not even finished yet

I've never gotten into manga. I own the Highschool of the Dead Omnibus, but beyond that, I've always just stick with comics.

No, Zangetsu is his zanpakuto. Zangetsu is his hollow and shinigami powers merged. Who Ichigo thought was zangetsu was really the manifestation of his quincy side.
Reread the chapter where ichigo visits his inner world and battles hichigo for the first time. ichigo ask where zangetsu is (the old man in black he was refering to) and hichigo says " i am zangetsu". A lot of the cryptic messages from old chapters makes sense now.
