Thanks to this thread, now I miss Anton Yelchin again. RIP to one of the most underrated actors ever.

Holy crap, just read the wiki-story on this.

That went from being collecting a small drug debt to fricking Death Row.

They kidnap the kid, party with him...going to send him back home over only $1,000, realize kidnapping is a serious felony and could get 5 years in prison...

So decide to up the ante and kill him and then get life in Prison.

Poor kid got abducted by the dumbest criminals in history and paid for it with his life.

Seems like this movie is either loved or hated, but I thought it was great for what it was trying to accomplish. The story is absolutely nuts and there's been more developments since the movie came out.

The kid pleading at the end was rough to me as well. Anton Yelchin definitely nailed that scene. I think timberlake and hirsch were decent- their familiarity and usually portraying decent people in movies(hirsch was coming off The Girl Next Door for me) probably throw people off by being pieces of shite in this movie. Cast was stacked, though. Forgot Ben Foster was in there, too.

I just don't understand how this is possible. He absolutely dominated this movie.

And you remembered Anton Yelchin?

Yeah, for some reason I can only remember taking notice of Foster after Pandorum came out(more so because I just liked sci-fi flicks). Yelchin's career was pretty big way before Foster's took off. But you're right, Foster was great in his role now that I think about it

I haven't seen this movie in years, but I always thought it was pretty highly regarded?

Depicts the real story and characters pretty closely. I followed the case really close. Can not believe JJH is in jail for life. This movie coming out before his trial didn’t help.

I thought the story was pretty captivating.

LMAO, that was the first thing I thought of too.

I didn't know anything about the dude when I saw that episode when it aired for the first time. I looked him up expecting some big time action director based on how they portrayed him in Entourage only to find out that he directed fricking The Notebook and My Sister's Keeper (two of the most sure thing tear inducing movies for women)

that episode was certainly interesting, but I hate it due to the fact that it started up that emo-Vince drug addiction/sasha grey storyline. I don't have an issue with those elements being in play for a show about a movie star, but the way they did it just didn't work for me. It was more annoying than anything else.

Good movie btw. Bully is another similar one worth watching.

It came out the same time as that movie smoking aces I believe. Both hyped to hell and back but we’re just OK.
