I never follow these things for long, I get bored. I watched 3 episodes of season one and the thing that made an impression was the first 2 who cried and went home was a cop and a gun nut.

Not Igor...I-Gor

He burned himself out on the shelter. I guess some of these guys come in so cocky or perhaps too confident that they think that all good things will fall into place.

I too am very impressed with Terry.

I forget the name of the guy because he wasnt in the last episode, but the guy I'm rooting hard for to go home, and I'm sure its about to happen anyway, but it's the guy that did the dumb dance. The guy who made his fly fishing lure out of the sole of his shoe.

He's an idiot. The dude is set up in a perfect spot right off the river. He goes fishing ONE DAY for a few hours at the most, loses his lure and after that he claims "the fishing is dried up." YOU ARE NEXT TO A 50 YARD WIDE FLOWING RIVER, the fishing hasn't dried up you idiot, you just cant fish. He's said he needs to kill a bear if he wants to survive, which is fine, but he's said probably four times now that the fishing has dried up. I dont think I've ever wanted someone to go home as bad as this dude. Fishes twice for a few hours, loses lure, and all of a sudden a river is dried up GTFO

Well, i called it on Jacques from the get go. As i said in my first post, anyone who decides to bring extra food rations is probably weak and won't make it.

Benji is looking strong right now, as is Terry. Those beavers are going to keep them strong and active for a good 3 weeks easily.

I think Tom is a wild card. He hasn't made that nice kill like Terry or Benji has, but i feel confident he can be successful hunting something big. His problem, and the reason why i don't think he'll win is b/c he came in too skinny. Benji and Terry both came in carrying a nice bit of extra fat on their body. They lose 20 lbs in the first 3 weeks and it's really no big deal at all. They can still lose another 20 lbs and still be alright. Tom can't afford to lose that much weight, and that is inevitable considering even if they get that big protein, they are pretty much on a no carb diet and are going to lose weight no matter what.

It's not. Law only allows for fly fishing.

Is it just me or are they actually focusing more on the survival skills like hunting, fishing and shelter building? I think we’ve seen more animals killed in these episodes than any season total.

I get so anxious when they take a shot at a squirrel or a grouse because I’d lose every arrow in one day.

Benji got the COVID!!! Tough to see a guy who was doing so well tap out.

Well, in her words, she's building a "Hodge-Podge Lodge".

Looks to me like she's building a reason to be tapping out. So far she hasn't gotten much food and it looks like she's not too proficient with a bow.

My guess is she'll be one of the next 2 to go. Then she can go home and chant her Native American songs to get her day started.

That dude is flirting with disaster by drinking that water straight from the river and not boiling it first. Especially since we have seen that there is a large population of beaver in the area.

Way too many parasites in most water to be drinking it straight out the river.

The spirituality with the dirt and limbs whisper in her ear and when its natural, its natural for her being to be made one with mother nature gods planet earth to be able to survive. I'm kind of rooting for her because at her age, she kind of is a badass, but man she talks like she's high on shrooms. Which I guess she possibly could be.

Still rooting against the Arkansas dude. Mainly for the "fishing is drying up" after he makes three casts into a flowing river. Last night he shot two squirrels, heard a few more and said "I think I'm going to save those" For what? You think those few squirrels 500 yards from your camp are going to be waiting on you in a week?

Also, that squirrel he cooked was BURNT. I had to rewind it because me and the wife were laughing at how it was cooked. It looked like tar.

I'm kind of rooting for him as a sleeper. But you're right, that could easily take him out.

I just like when people don't give up on fishing. Either by doing it for a little bit or by catching one and leaving. He did what you're supposed to do if you want to survive. He caught a fish, and stayed out there all day fishing so he ended up catching 6.

Seems to be a lot more success with hunting this season and it’s been the most enjoyable in a while for me because it seems like almost anyone can win. Hodge Podge Lodge lady burned 30 pounds to build an extensive home just in time to hide inside from the snow and starve. Congrats!

Yeah. I still can’t figure out why she’s doing what she’s doing.

Winter is going to have to be rough to run some of these folks off. Not sure why the people with successful beaver kills aren’t looking for another one. I’d be trying to stock up before the water freezes.

Yep. I'd think a 40 lb. beaver by the time that thick hide, guts and meat cut off the carcass would yield about 15 lbs. of useable meat.

Then once they cure it by smoking, that volume in weight goes way down, likely about 2/3 in weight.

I know I lose about that much weight by volume when making jerky.

I cant remember these peoples names but the second guy to kill the beaver who was smoking it this episode, he seems like he's going to rely on that beaver for a long time. He is really good, but he has to do more hunting/fishing. He has already lost like 30 pounds and is very skinny. If he tries to rely on that and doesnt bring in much more, they are going to medically remove him. He's going to be a unhealthy skinny real quick.

I like the hodge podge lady, but she has seriously got to start getting some food. Like how has that not clicked with her yet. Yes, that is definitely one of the better shelters that has been on the show, but she is going to starve real quick.

Yep. I've seen plenty of contestants removed due to losing too much weight. An average size person can't afford to lose weight as fast as they are. Sooner or later the body starts cannibalizing itself, first of excess fats and muscle tissue. Then, if it continues, organ damage is going to happen that can lead to long term medical issues.

No TV show's producers are going to let that happen and face that liability.

Remember that contestant that got removed a few seasons ago due to his weight loss and physical condition even though he had plenty of fish dried for him to eat? He just wasn't fit enough at that medical check to continue and they pulled him.
