Just take this one scene and look at how the score enhances it... It's incredible. Conan Palace Battle

When you don't have a single score from the last 30 years you're trying too hard to be a film history buff

No "The Sound of Music"? This list is shite.

quote:

The soundtrack of the film The Sound of Music was released in 1965. It reached number one in June of that year and spent a total of 70 weeks at the top over several runs. It was the biggest-selling album in the UK during 1965, 1966, and 1968 and the second biggest-selling of the entire decade after Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The Sound of Music also stayed 73 weeks on the Norwegian charts, becoming the seventh best-charting album of all time in that country.

11. The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938)
Along with the Wizard of Oz, great movie to introduce children to the golden age of Hollywood! Highly recommend watching it if you are a father with young son(s). My son thoroughly enjoyed this as a child. To this day, his favorite actor is Errol Flynn, and we raise a glass to Olivia de Havilland (101 yrs old) every year on her birthday.

Inception

Did you know that most of the soundtrack was never truly completed? When Nolan got the samples he liked them so much he just used those for a large chunk of the movie. The music is iconic in its use in the film. But as a standalone soundtrack it's not as amazing as it's reputation.
