Only saw one of those films and one of those TV shows. I do want to start The Americans though. Couldn't get into Mad Men, it was too slow (tried 3 seasons).

I don't see how you leave True Detective off that list.
At least 3 of those films have Christmas release dates (Selma, Unbroken, and American Sniper), so I guess we can't really comment yet.
