James Gunn has to be one of them, right?
Maybe, but I wouldn't put any stock in any reporting that claims to know what people are "privately" rooting for.

WB was and is fricked.
The option appears to be less competition with WB being acquired, or less competition with WB going bankrupt and selling IP off
They'd just go back to their first option and sell to Netflix. There is no reality where WBD doesn't get acquired by another company.

For sure. Not even a leftist government would succeed in blocking this deal. There's no legitimate legal argument against it.

They'd just go back to their first option and sell to Netflix
And also would end theater releases, despite the bullshite Netflix claimed (and nobody believed)

Maybe they were and you just didn't hear about it. Which mergers do you think they should have been against?
How about the cbs and viacom merger that gave you the current paramount.
If you can link benedict Cumberbatch being against it, fair play.

I don't remember hearing this much angst when Netflix was the front runner. Did I miss that?

Yep. I wouldn't mind that so much (I am not quiet about my opinion is movie theaters are overpriced and not worth the value), but these people who claim to love the "movie theater experience" are sure up in arms to defend delays to this merger that is the only sure way to guarantee WBD will still have movie theater releases.
