Maybe it’s just me, but I loved the ace Ventura movies growing up. Caught the first one on tv not too long ago and thought it was awful. Maybe that over the top humor no longer appeals to me

That was the first comedy movie that ever stuck with me. I laughed so goddamn much all the time. Jim Carrey in his hey day was A God Tier comedian.

I can already see the think pieces in my head when people start rewatching Ace Ventura 1 and see the entire plot about the sex change and the jokes from it

Legitimately one of the worst comedies I've ever seen. Jim Carrey simply isn't funny anymore and even his acting sucks now. Whatever is going on in his head has completely ruined his talent and I think this will be a disaster

Same here. That type of humor hasn’t aged so well.
I prefer Carey’s other movies from that era.
