Whoa whoa now...... where is this coming from?
Rhaegar I could understand (although I believe that lyanna was plenty willing) but I've never heard anything about aerys

The books just say that he quit suddenly. It fits with Tyrion's straight silver hair instead of golden Lannister curls. (I know, I know, its a longshot.)

I'm still sticking with my goofy theory that he quit because Aerys raped Joanna.
That's one of those theories that I don't personally believe, but wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being true.

Oh damn I read joanna but was thinking lyanna the whole time. So yea I suppose that could be true, but its been said in the AFFC that tyrion is the most like Tywin out of all the lannister children so I kind of doubt it. But im sure its possible

Do you guys really think Tywin would have simmply quit if Aerys raped Joanna (said to be the love of his life and the reason all the happiness has gone out of him after she died). I can't get behind this theory because Tywin would have fricked some shite up if this had happened.

The exact timeline is a little fuzzy to me, but Jaime was old enough to have already joined the Kingsguard when Tywin stepped down as Hand and 19 when he killed Aerys. So it couldn't have been more than a couple of years between Tywin quitting and the Lannister's brutal sack of King's Landing where Jaime killed Aerys and Ser Gregor and Ser Amory Lorche raped and killed Princess Elia and her children. Seems like a reasonable amount of time to brood and wait for your opportunity.

I agree. It would be an interesting development. I would like for Tyrion to be one of the heads of the dragon.
When/if Tyrion meets Dany, I wonder if their hair will be that similar.

*SPOILER* Storm of Swords level only *SPOILER*
Its mentioned repeatedly in the books that the kinslayer is cursed by gods and men. I'm thinking that somewhere in GRRM's cold, cold, heart he holds a bit of affection for the little guy and lets him off the hook as a kinslayer.

Raises a good point. If the mad king is Tyrion's father, he's not a kinslayer by shooting Tywin on the crapper.

do yall think that the Gods actually exist? Obviously the heart trees exist but do they actually hold power? What about The Seven? The Drowned God? I'm pretty sure that Rhollor (spelling?) does because Melisandre has to get her power from somewhere. But people who worship the seven and the old gods repeatedly say that the gods never answer their prayers.

I have trouble believing that Tywin would raise Tyrion as his own if he believed he was the son of Aerys.
After all, this would have been Aerys' seed that killed his Joanna.
He already hates Tyrion enough for it, but his only restraint is that he believes Tyrion is his son. If he suspected otherwise, he would have tossed Tyrion to the dogs.
I always believed the breaking point between Aerys and Tywin was the naming of Jamie to Aerys' Kingsguard without Tywin's consent.

This.
If Tywin expected for a second that Tyrion wasn't his he never would have made it out the womb, and if somehow Joanna still gave birth he would have thrown him off the walls of Casterly Rock.

Tyrion as a Targ is far fetched, but would be interesting.

Anyone have any thoughts as to the identities of the two men that Arya eavesdrops on under the castle while they talk about plots, implying that they are pros at manipulation to the point that makes Littlefinger look like an amateur.
Especially the one that Arya thought she recognized, but could not place.
My thought was maybe Varys, but
