I definitely picked it apart a few times. And said “this is stupid would never happened”
But I think it’s gonna be entertaining

I liked the main character and the first episode well enough. It felt like they should’ve gave us the first 2 episodes to really pull viewers in.

Not a good show to watch weekly it’s just too short. From now on ill be waiting to watch at least 2 at a time.

Dunk and Egg is a much lighter tone than we get from any of the other books

was just a wtf moment that caught everyone off guard and added nothing to the show

It made sense why they included it when Dunk is trying to enroll in the tourney and when the scribe asked who witnessed his knighting Dunk said a Robin. He looked up and stared at the Robin while he was shitting.

The first book, The Hedge Knight, was written three years before A Knight's Tale was released. (1998 to 2001)

Commoners posing as knights is a tale as old as the time it depicts.

Agreed.

I absolutely lost it when they started to play the GoT theme, getting me super pumped for the intro sequence, only to
have it interrupted by the shitting

So where does everyone stand on if he was actually knighted or if he is making it up?

I'm on Team False Knight.

There's no way he was actually knighted, but I suspect we'll never know for sure. I didn't think we were really supposed to be left wondering though.

Any knight can make a night and among hedge knights it wouldn't be alarming for the dude he squired for to knight him as he was dieing.

It's left ambiguous enough that it's a point of discussion in a lot of other communities.

I think it's to be understood that he wasn't knighted. I don't think Dunk will ever say for sure, but GRRM likes to use subtlety rather than outright say things.

Never read any of the books in the GoT universe, but so far I enjoyed the characters of this show. Agreed with everyone else though, they should have released two episodes because this went way quick and waiting a week for such a quick show sucks.

I do think it also stands to reason that his knight would've wanted him knighted if he knew he was gonna be dead.

Its tradition. He just died without having the chance.

Probably, and again, I don't think it will come up in later seasons.

It eventually gets a bit more serious and political. I don't think it will lose its tone altogether, though.
