One of my all-time top 10 movies.
Ol' Meathead can make a great movie, huh?

Of course, with that cast he could have made it about cross-stitching and it would have kicked arse.

That drill team was not a real drill team

Watch the credits at the end of the movie again. It was a real drill team. It was the Texas A&M drill team, and I enjoyed their delayed cadence. It was pretty obvious also.
A Few Good Men

The Marine Corps drill team was portrayed by Texas A&M University's Corps of Cadets Fish Drill Team.
Boom, bitch.

I get chills when that part of the movie comes on "You can't handle the truth".

You, Lieutenant Weinberg?
Always loved that bit of that speech. Jew bashing. The contempt with how he says his name. Great writing. Just made him more unlikable.

quote:Good point- this movie always stirs up debates after people watch it. Was he a bad guy? IDK, thought I'd have to say that personally "I want him on that wall. I need him on that wall"
It took me years to realize that Lt. Col. Nathan R. Jessep was supposed to be a bad guy in the movie

"And what do we have for the losers, judge...yes, it's an lifelong stay at exotic Ft. Leavenworth, AAAAannnnnd for defense council Caffey...YES! It's a court-martial!! After falsely accusing a highly decorated Marine officer of conspiracy and perjury, Lt. Caffey will have a long and successful career teaching .....type-writer maintenance at the Rocco Clubbo school for women!
Thank you for playing "Should we or should we not follow the advice of the galactically STUPID!!"

You must have seen it a lot. I saw it last night for the first time and all these quotes are making me want to watch it again already.

This implies that he was already unlikable.

"Oh, I see - it must have been Professor Plum in the library with the candlestick"
"May I call you John? No, you may not. Have I done something to offend you? No, I like all you Navy boys. Every time we have to go somewhere to fight, you boys give us a ride".
"We're going to have to ride a boat? Is there a problem, sir? No, just no one said anything about boats. Jesus Christ, Caffey, you're in the Navy for crying out loud. No one really likes her. Yes sir."
"Don't call me son. I'm an lawyer, and an officer in the US Navy. And you're under arrest, you ___ __ _ _____".
"I'm scared of crashing into a large mountain. I don't think Dramamine will help. I hear oregano helps."

There is nothing on this earth sexier, believe me, gentlemen, than a woman you have to salute in the morning. Promote 'em all, I say, 'cause this is true: if you haven't gotten a blowjob from a superior officer, well, you're just letting the best in life pass you by.

When I was in boot camp they played the courthouse scene for us then proceeded to tell us EVERYTHING wrong with the movie expecially saluting indoors. Them some fond memories.

Of course not. No man speaks as well as Aaron Sorkin writes.

Good movie, but I don't buy the ending:
SPOILERS BELOW:
Really, a guy smart enough to falsify a transfer offer, doctor tower logs at 2 different military airports, lie about transferring a private is going to just admit in open court that he ordered the code red, even after the prosecutor objects to the question and the judges rules in his favor.
