I agree completely. The fact that these two shows are running at the same time is a testament to how great tv drama really is right now.

the other 4 that were nominated are also all very good. so to say it's not even close is not even close to being correct

If you haven't seen breaking bad then you can't really comment on where it is in relation to other shows.

I didn't give it a chance until recently but it's every bit as good as everyone says.

You haven't watched all of them. So, you wouldn't know.

When you get around to watching BB, you'll get it.

You took that the wrong way. It wasn't an insult to those other shows. It was a compliment to the quality of those two shows.

Also, how did that pile of shite Girls get nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, but Parks and Rec didn't? Parks and Rec along with Modern Family are the two funniest shows on tv, so I'm not mad in the least that MF won, but damn, P&R can't even get a nomination?

And when the frick will Ron Swanson get an award for his awesomeness? shite him or Andy. Really, the Emmy for Supporting Male Actor in a Comedy Series should have Ty Burrell, Eric Stonestreet, Chris Pratt, and Nick Offerman as nominees every year. From episode to episode, season to season, you aren't going to find any actors that turn in better performances than them.

I was firmly in "The Wire is the GOAT," camp and grudgingly started Breaking Bad. I fought it and fought it, but eventually had to admit to myself that BB was better. Its the best show i've ever watched.

I also agree with the guy who said GOT was the other best show on tv right now. BB is better, imo. But GOT is awesome.

GOT is awesome, but I think people place The Wire/Sopranos/BB ahead of it is because all 3 of those shows are finished/the final 'product' is there and you know what happens. BB has 1 episode left so it's basically complete as well. GOT has only had 3 seasons so far/is barely out of its infancy but I'm confident that the next 4-5 seasons are going to make it surpass some of those shows mentioned and will be one of HBO's greatest shows ever. S4 should prove to win some Emmys next year; if not it's even more rigged than I thought.

I cop out when making comparisons between GoT and breaking bad. At the end of game of thrones last season I thought it was the best show I'd ever seen. But these last episodes of breaking bad are so perfect I can no longer claim the former to still be true.

GoT and Breaking Bad have vast differences (fantasy vs. reality, dozens of characters vs. a few, long time period vs. short time period), but gotdamn they are the pinnacle of tv.

One thing that I believe tips the favor towards BB for some people is that it is completely original. GoT is obviously based on the books and any time you deal with any property based on a book or series of books, you have to deal with bookfags.

I tried watching The Newsroom last year and had to quit after a few episodes. The show was is so blatantly leftist, so I shouldn't be surprised that the Hollywood libs love it. Plus Hanoi Jane is on the show now. I'm not a super conservative by any means (consider myself to be libertarian), but the Newsroom is liberal drivel, or at the very least, season 1 was. No hate towards Jeff Daniels, but a lot of those actors in that category were more deserving.
