175 was the original budget and they went over, which is equally impressive.

I liked keanu reeves, but they shouldve gone with a relevant movie star

$225 million according to their wikipage. This could be the biggest bomb of all time.

By the numbers John Carter technically belongs with that group but it was actually a good movie.
Perfect example of social media doom. When this was out, it was all over my facebook news feed and online sources about how "bad" it was. Internet cool at its finest. I dvr'd it, and found it to be pretty good.

And was it any good?
Is it out already? I saw a trailer for it this past weekend.
I haven't seen it, but based on the trailer alone, it looked terrible.

So has anybody actually gone to see this or is this just a bunch of people bitching about something they never saw and taking some dick bag critic's word for it?
FTR, the real life event that this is very loosely based on is actually a very cool story.

So does that mean The Last Samurai bombed in japan too?

I thought the trailer looked pretty cool

I am assuming he is basing his opinion off of reading the John Carter books.

the real tragedy is this Edgar Rice Burroughs book series did not get more attention earlier when studios were ruining Tarzan with their short sightedness.

I saw the real Ronin, which is likely much better than this silly samurai shite

I actually liked john carter and Lone Ranger, with Lone Ranger being the better of the two. I'll prob watch 47 ronin when it comes out on DVD.

Tomatomator says:
12% of critics like it
64% of audience liked it
That is a big difference.

Which is why this particular screen treatment looks absolutely retarded.
The story is one of the great revenge sagas. Should've been another Count of Monte Cristo.
