yea but i think that the technology was developed under Palmer, and was originally approved under him, i think thats where he was going at with that

No. Cloe made a comment afterwards that something was wrong with him cause he said Palmer. It was the wrong name and evidence that he is losing it a little mentally. But I still loved seeing him go off on her.

I think it was b/c he knew that the FBI already knew the complex had them and was going to find out where they were with or w/o Tony, and he knew that saving one would be better than losing all of the containers

never clarified, but...either:
it was Tony's plan all along - which is preposterous when you think about the level of complexity, but not out of the reach of prior 24 storylines
or
it became apparent that Jonas Hodges was a wildcard and Tony made a gametime call to procure the gas

I am still not convinced that Tony is into killing innocents. It seems he hates the government. I would not be surprised if he changes the target to FBI headquarters or something. So far he has not been proactive in a plan to kill civilians.

but I wouldnt put it past Pierce do throw out a little S&M - he did have that "I'd love to choke you to near unconsciousness while I Chili Dog all over your chest" look when he glared at Olivia

I know its all scripted but just watching Jack go off on Garofalo made my night. That is one stupid woman.

You're missing the ultimate joke/irony that they are creating with her character.
They took an actress who is a known loudmouth lib, and they put her in a show which is a known right wing creation. That right there is an insult to her, for she can get no other job. Can you imagine what she has to swallow to bear being part of a conservative show every day? I love it!
Here's the best part. They make her character an annoying lib who is against doing anything that will save lives if it's even remotely "outside the law". She whines all the time, and they had Jack yell at her crybaby arse. It was basically a parallel of what people in real life want to do to her.
I mean, seriously, they just put her and her stupid views on TV and completely made her look as small as a gnat in front of millions of viewers. How great is that?

yes.. I think. Jonas went AWAL on them with the early attacks, and they weren't planning on using the bioweapon for another 6 months. Tony destroyed all the missiles with the weapon to prevent an unapproved strike, and he was able to get away with one so they can produce what they needed for their attack in 6 months. His sole purpose this season was to infiltrate everything, stop Hodges and get the biochem.
At least, this is how I have interpreted it. This season was very good but is getting a little convoluted with their difficult explanation of the silliness that is Tony being bad
