I rather enjoy Boudreau. I knew from the get go he'd be more of an annoyance at first then probably prove his worth (not that we are there yet) but it seems like there may be a decent arc to him rather than just being a foil for Jack.

I really like Boudreau too. Everyone thought he was a mole but he was trying to do the best for Audrey and Heller. He's gonna end up trying to save Jack from the Russians now I think.

I am pissed Heller didn't get a silent clock. I know the show uses them sparingly, so I bet they are saving it for later this season.

Also loved how when Jack took out the transmitter in Hellers forearm that it was a huge deep cut with a scalpel and he then proceeds to put a bandaid on it.

What is this silent clock everyone is talking about?

A silent clock is a rare occurrence on 24 in which the digital clock displayed at the end of a scene or episode is silent, without the typical beeping sounds. It occurred eleven times and was used to punctuate highly emotional scenes. Six of them took place around the time of the death of a significant character; the other five did not.

There's been a moment in every episode so far and this was definitely last night's.

Last week it was the drone patiently waiting for them to switch cars and this week it was bandaid on surgical incision.

The only thing that could've made it better was if, after Jack pulled out the bandaid he just paused for a second and looked into the camera with a "What? He'll be dead before tonights credits and I have to sew his arse up?" look on his face.

Renee Walker got TWO. I'm fairly certain they also used one when the bomb went off in LA.

For fun: Ryan Chappelle is the only person ever killed by Jack to receive a silent clock.

Ole Chappelle. Just when he was starting to grow on me.

Brutal scene. Along with Jack squeezing the trigger on the pistol aimed a Chase's head...two scenes that make that season awesome.

I think Heller is definitely dead which would make sense so they won't have to focus on his disease for part of the show. Also, now there will be no proof that the document was forged to the russians which should make for an interesting end to the season.

I also laughed about the bandaid on Heller, I was like at least they could have used a butterfly bandaid.

How many more hours do we have? 2? This has gone by way too fast.

He's dead. How can he not be dead? What possible series of events could have provided him an escape from the missile?

Not even 24 would let Heller survive. It's at least based on some shred of reality. The only reason people are wondering is because he didn't get the silent clock.

Chloe hacked into the drone's camera and played a loop of Heller standing in Wembly stadium.

shite... I did not think of this. Chloe was in action as this all was going down.

My previous post, laughing off Heller being alive, may turn out to be an error in judgement..

While possible it wouldn't mean much for the character of Heller. Yes it'll be an intriguing sleight of hand, but we'd still be left with an old man, who has Alzheimer's and just resigned the presidency. There needs to be stakes for these characters and having a win in Heller surviving would be a nice kick to the teeth of the enemy but it would also cheat us out of any value to his sacrifice and just wouldn't be as satisfying as him laying down his life.
