Also, the cringe worthy dialogue regarding Jacob's description of Alex was ridiculous.
He was around her for 2 hours and described her as a shooting star that talked.

So many things they get so wrong. How does that happen? There has to be more than just horse spinner guy writing this stuff, and then reviewing, right? Maybe not. It's like they don't even read their own stuff. It's entertaining, but always has plot issues.
Rainwater girl also killed a deputy in front of the Marshalls, but they fail to mention that.
Jacks wife leaving, and the dialogue with Cara and no mention that she was pregnant.
That shootout at the train depot looked like something out of a Simpsons show. All of them standing around each other, and none of the Dutton's get killed.
