it means nothing but even other kids talk about that program.

Friend of mine's kid plays at an area high school and they played Zachary and many of the same Zachary kids on their summer league team. Also said they start talking trash coming off the bus.

Said he talked to parents he knows from other schools and they experienced the same.

Sounds to me that starts and ends with the coach allowing and perpetuating this.
Seems to me he could have kept this from coming a long time ago if he would have instilled just a little sportsmanship.

For those bitching about Teurlings I can see that. But I think Zachary earned what they got.

Agreed, but ALL parties participating in this kind of activity should be banned, period. It's like 4 cars get caught for speeding and only 1 gets a ticket just because they have a reputation. It's just not right.

The erosion of sportsmanship in athletics today is one of my biggest concerns. And to have it at this level to this extent is even more concerning.

I don't know the details of the West Monroe deal. But on the surface I agree with you.

. BTW you can't please everybody.
No you cant, but you can teach Highschool kids how to win with Class, not with classless acts that a coach condones that start before his team is even off the Bus good. This is fact my man. Cassard needs to go, and beleive me alot of us in Zachary are ready for that to happen. I dont blame the kids, this wasnt just an isolated incident, this is his mentality and is as classless as you say i am. If the truth hurts ,im sorry bubba.

like i said, that was second hand info from the kids over here last night. was only the second time this year they talked about how the other kids acted before and during a game. basically they talked a lot of unwarranted trash and were pricks.

i will add, they were not butt hurt. both jv and varsity won.

I see Teurling's has made the playoffs as the #4 seed.

What is Zachary's fate?

Cassard and the team got what was coming to them. Their attitudes on the field shine a negative light on the school. I know this from firsthand experience playing against them a few years ago. And my coach at the time would've singlehandedly separated every kid involved in the brawl. Shame on TCH's coach as well, but Cassard has an attitude he brings to the team that isn't good for baseball. He just doesn't know when to shut up and let your play speak for itself.

The school board and administration seem content with the appeal decision from quotes I've read. I'm really not sure what is going to happen next, if anything. I've heard things, but no action so far.

rmc, do you think they may be looking to use this postseason ban as a reason to get rid of Cassard or do you think he's "untouchable"?

The Parents supposedly have filed some type of appeal.....not ZHS

Everything I'm hearing is it won't be reversed and they are out of the playoffs.

I've heard some rumblings to that extent and that's troubling. The powers that be didn't care when he reeled off 3 straight state championships. The team's have acted like this since the beginning of that run. I think he is safe for now. But I wouldn't be surprised if the smallest thing gets him run off going forward.

Anyway, it looks like ZHS is done. The school board has decided not to push the issue. The superintendent's kid isn't on the team so he isn't going to push the issue. Apparently the parents aren't going to push the issue. It really is a shame that TCHS is in the playoffs but ZHS isn't.

I've heard some stuff about local state legislators maybe jumping into the fray and attempting to pass some legislation that may hurt LHSAA's power to do these things. It's just 2nd or 3rd hand hearsay so I'm not confident enough in the information to say more.

If they did it through the court system I will check that in just a few minutes. Someone told me there was a strategy to doing it right before the playoffs so that an temporary injunction would be signed. This would give no time for a hearing to be held and at least get ZHS in the bracket. Not sure, I'll check in a few.
