I'm not a fan of Herman, but Smith comes across as having the maturity of a 12-year old.
Who cares? I welcome this added entertainment aspect of college football. I wish more more coaches would start calling each other out on twitter

The arrest was for Smith pulling into the ex-wifes driveway to drop off the kids - after she failed to show up at a neutral spot. She was waiting with a camera when he pulled in to show to the cops to claim violation of a restraining order - and there was no order - just a cop who told him he should stay off the property, from a year before.
Well, he was found guilty of the violation of the protection order, so one had to be in place.

Either way IF she really didnt meet him purposely to set that up its extremely fricked up. Baiting your husband to get arrested while your kids watch is pretty fricking trashy

Well, not exactly.
Smith took a plea in an attempt to take the heat off Meyer. This mess became a media circus in Ohio.
Delaware county records are accessible via the internet. Show me a restraining order.

All i see is you trying to ruin a good conversation about what really happened. Go to another thread and post all your emoticons

Not worth it to me. They are both psycho.
And the event that led to the arrest took place at his kids elementary school, not her house.

Smith sounds like the kind of guy that is going to walk into a mall some day and start firing guns.

Wrong. The so-called restraining order violation took place at her house. In the driveway.

DELAWARE, Ohio (WCMH) — A former assistant coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes will spend at least 19 days in jail for violating a protection order.
According to court records, Zach Smith was found guilty of a protection order violation. Friday, Smith was sentenced to 180 days in jail. A judge suspended 160 of those days and credited him for one day of time served.
Smith will be on probation for 3 years. If probation is violated, he could be ordered to serve the length of the suspended sentence.
According to the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, Smith was charged after an incident at his children’s school in May of 2019. The sheriff’s office received calls that Smith was being confrontational with staff members at Scioto Ridge Elementary School who weren’t letting Smith pick up his children.
Deputies confirmed that Smith was violating a civil protection order, and they arrested him and charged him for that violation.

^^Looks like the court did some fancy footwork on that bogus charge.

So, there may have been a restraining order in place in 2019 at the school - but not in 2018 at the wife's driveway.
quote:
According to the criminal complaint also obtained by Eleven Warriors, "Mr. Smith took his son to his ex-wife's residence (redacted) to drop him off after being instructed by Ms. Smith not to come to her residence and disregarding a previous criminal trespass warning that had been given to him by Detective Pentz on Dec. 19, 2017 at 2 p.m. The incident was witnessed by Ms. Smith and their son along with photographs of Mr. Smith's vehicle being present in her driveway. Mr. Smith also admitted to Sgt. Roach that he was present on Ms. Smith's property and acknowledged receipt of the trespass warning given to him by Detective Pentz."

Apparently so.
The driveway incident/set-up was at the wife's house, and is was what I was referring to - and the one that you attempted to refute.

The 2018 situation at her house led to the civil protection order being in place which was violated at the elementary school in 2018.
Probably shouldn't blatantly call people out when you don't understand the underlying facts.

Nice attempt [not] to cover for your face-plant on the facts of this story. Lame.

One theory (that won't go away) is that Herman and his wife engineered the Zach Smith scandal to frame Urban Meyer. And to push Meyer out so Herman could become OSU HC.
Fair amount of evidence that Smith never hit his wife (the wife's mom has stated this in 2 recorded interviews). And that the Herman's gave the wife substantial amounts of money while the takedown of Smith/Meyer was cooking.
