wow...

it's between babe ruth calling his shot in 1932, kerry wood's 20 strikeout game, seeing sammy sosa that same summer at wrigley, chalmette football in the 1968 state semifinals against joe ferguson and woodlawn shreveport, chalmette losing to st. aug 20-19 in like 1978 with 15,000 people crammed into bobby nuss, the 1908 "merkle's boner" game between the cubs and new york giants at the polo grounds, maravich playing for the jazz in the superdome, the new orleans night in the superdome, or dale earnhardt winning daytona in 1998...

so many choices

In no particular order...

- Saints return to the Superdome on Monday Night Football

- LSU vs. Florida in 2007 (after it is announced that USC lost to Stanford)

- The Miracle on Ice

- Fenway Park for Game 5 of the 2004 ALCS

- Derek Redmond's gutsy "finish" of the 400 meter race in the 1992 Olympic Games.

USA defeats USSR in hockey - hands down.

Followed closely by the Bluegrass Miracle.

A couple significant others...

Because I grew up a Redskins fan - I would have loved to have seen the John Riggins Superbowl run.

And not quite a "sports moment" but - The Opening Ceremony of the Barcelona Olympics where the torch relay ends with an archer firing a flaming arrow to light the Olympic Flame.... chills watching it then, chills thinking about it now.

Miracle on Ice....I can't even imagine the emotion in that arena.

I was there but I would like to experience it again. LSU vs. Loyola Marymont. Shaq and CJ vs. Hank Gathers and Bo Kimble. Frickin track meet. I was physically exausted after that game. Verneal Singleton had one of the sickest dunks I've ever seen in that game.

Also punch Dale Brown in nuts at halftime of LSU UK when we blew the 31 point lead and tell the team if they take any shot but a layup with more than 4 seconds on the shot clock I will kill their family.
