Better period for Toronto but still the little things. Having a 3 on 0 with two Leafs in perfect position to put home any rebound and the puck carrier hesitates and allows a back checker to blow up the odd man rush. Can't happen in an elimination game. You have to at least get a shot off in that situation. Also late in the period one of their players (given how he has played in this game if I was going to guess who it was I would say Holl) tries a pass across the front of his own net instead of going up the ice with the puck. Fortunately the Panther player couldn't control the puck and it went into the opposite corner and Toronto got out of the zone but that play is one you can't make in an elimination game (Most assistant coaches in charge of defense would say you can't make that pass in any game.)

Very clunky game without a lot of flow from either team so far. Kind of reminds me of New Jersey Devils games in the Martin Brodeur era.
