Gross

Nothing should be by the C or A, hasn't the Finals logo always been opposite?

They've had a long rest period. Curious to see how that goes.

Yes. The Stanley Cup Finals patch was always on the other side where it belongs. Sadly, the league whored itself out for every last corporate dollar. If the Panthers win the series, is Auto Nation going to be engraved on the Stanley Cup next?

I've nearly been a basket case because the Knights last played on Monday. Florida's last game was on May 24th...TEN days ago. That's a bye week and change.

This has gotten nearly as bad as that NFL 2 weeks between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl crap. All for the $$$.

Having stated that, Go Knights go and best of luck to both teams for a great series. Still figuring out watch party plans.

If VGK win, I can see Circa getting theirs on the CUP...during a presentation at Stadium Swim.

Well the delay is because of early series endings. Remember there’s a day between each game plus travel time. The dates are predetermined by league at beginning of season

Yeah, I get that but I still think that they can do it better and make amenities. There's also no need for an extra travel day and 3 days between Finals games. We'e getting to the point where sometime in the future, the headline will be...Happy Independence Day, everyone. Also, congrats to the new Stanley Cup Champions.

I get the sudden urge to vomit any time I see ads anywhere near the Stanley Cup. If the Golden Knights win, are you getting any of the player merchandise? I bought a Perron signed Stanley Cup photo. And if there was some shitty arse Stifel on the jersey I would have refused to buy it.

I'm cool with them winning this year. The first year would have been a bit much to take for suffering franchises.

Florida got roasted for ruining their jerseys.

I’m still trying to find a team to root for but have been gravitating toward the Knights.

I was going with the Kraken early in the season season but the Knights have grown on me with Stone and Eichel, the Hill story, the insane pre game, sweaters look good, Cassidy is awesome etc.

Plus they are new to the game like myself.

The Florida panthers story is incredible though.

If they pull it off you gotta feel for their fans who have sat through shite since 1996.

Mike Babcock to make NHL return, Columbus Blue Jackets to name him as next head coach

The Columbus Blue Jackets appear to have found their next head coach.

The Blue Jackets are set to make Mike Babcock the franchise's new coach when his contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs officially ends later this month, according to a report from Sportnet.

Babcock won the 2008 Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings, but has not coached in the NHL since he was dismissed from the Maple Leafs in 2019.

Babcock signed an eight-year deal with Toronto prior to his departure. In 2021, Babcock was named the head coach of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.

After one season at the helm, he stepped down and announced his intention to retire.

Other NHL teams reportedly had interest in Babcock, including the New York Rangers.

Aside from the Maple Leafs and the Red Wings, the veteran coach also had a stint with the Anaheim Ducks. He has 17 years of NHL coaching experience.

Over the 17 years, Babcock has compiled a 700-418-19-164 career record. He also coached Canada men's national ice hockey team to two gold medals in the Olympics.

However, everyone was not always found of Babcock — including ex-Red Wings player Johan Franzen. He once said his Babcock was "the worst person I’ve ever met."

After a disappointing 2022-23 season, the Blue Jackets and coach Brad Larsen parted way in April.

Columbus finished this season in last place in the Eastern Conference with 59 points. The club has the third-overall selection in this year's draft.

The annual speech from Gary Bettman about not giving up on the NHL in Arizona.

JFC dude, move the franchise to Houston and get this mess over with.
