I'll go with the adapted lineup.

C-Mikan- Goaltending exists because of him. He reshaped the game with his defensive dominance.
PF- Bill Russell- the modern fast break's creation was derived off his directed shot blocking and passing off of the defensive glass
SF- Rodman - Rebounding is a very underrated and important part of defense-- you have to not only stop someone-- which he was excellent at-- but you have to secure the ball for your team and not give up second chances.
SG- Jorda
PG- Stockton- I love the Glove, but he was never as physical or tough at running through screens as the NBA's all time steal leader. The guy showed that you didn't have to be a gifted athlete to grind out being an elite defender for almost two decades.

You're gonna get downvoted for this, but you aren't wrong.

Stockton and Isiah two of the dirtiest guys out there. That’s not always a bad thing.

Other than kneeing players in knee or quad or grabbing jerseys or stepping on feet?

I can name more. He was notorious in being in dirtiest player all time list

grabbing jerseys

Pretty standard move.
everyone wants to call Stockton a dirty player, but you'd love him on your team, and so would every coach in the league.

Good list. I think I’d replace Duncan with Kevin Garnett though

How is Payton over Stockton? All time steals leader BY A BUNCH.
PG Stockton
SG Jordan
SF PIPPEN/LEBRON
PF even though he played C gimme bill Russell for the sake of my team.
C Chamberlain before blocks became an official stat he was known for routinely blocking double digit shot per game. One game famously having over 20 blocks. In preparation for playing Kansas teams would hold up broom sticks for their players to shoot over bc he could cover so much space and jump so damn high

you people saying KL over Pippen or Jordan are nuts. Kawhi plays in the softest era ever of the NBA. Pippen is the best team defender in the history of the NBA. Jordan is as good of an on ball defender as anyone has ever been. Kawhi is great but he's had it easy.

Bill Russell over Duncan, easily. Duncan wasn't anything special. The Big Man era was dead.

The increase in foul calls for handchecking makes me feel the opposite. Pippen and Jordan played when handchecking was allowed, which makes D much easier.

Kawhi has played a lot with rules that prohibit any handchecking. That makes his defensive accomplishment better, not worse. His success without being able to go hands on with anyone is admirable.

I think Pippen is the best perimeter defender ever, but Kawhi has been tremendous in an era where you can pick up a foul breathing on someone.

Kidd was much better than Payton defensively. Kidd was the best defensive perimeter player period.

Kidd
Dumars
Debusschere
Rodman
Russell
