We had at least 5 guys each season run a 4.5 or better... they were fast as shite... didnt mean they were any good though.

I dont think odelle Beckham even ran the top 3 40 times from our hs.

But our football program keeps the records

Our track team was stacked broke state records all the time

The funny thing is people have no idea how fast 'fast' is. I'd wager a legit 5 second 40 yard dash as a 16 year old would make you a pretty damn good athlete. A sub 4.75 would make you the fastest guy on the field in an average high school football game more times than not.

Eh, no. I'm not saying people are running legit 4.4s all over the place, but when we actually brought out the timing devices at Live Oak (some sort of camera set up, could have been laser I have no idea) you still had some kids in the 4.5 to 4.7 range. It's not like these kids are built to play college ball, a lot of them only weighed like 130-150.

where would the guy who started in front of JJ27 at West Monroe rank all time in the combine 40 overall list with his 4.30?

Not in Louisiana. Not even close. Every team has atleast 1 legit 4.5 guy at the larger schools. I would be willing to bet that the majority of 4A and 5A teams have close to double digit kids that run sub 4.75.

IDK but he weighed a WHOPPING 122 pounds. He went to McNeese State and was behind another bohemoth named BJ Sams.

BTW the 4.3 guy was Marcus Turner. Maybe Prom remembers him.

Ill be honest. 5.2
I was 6' 210 and played linebacker.

Eta: I was only ever timed twice and both were in cleats on the field. I think I could have gotten sub 5 on a track.

Same here. Sports all year, running every day, and the damn ADHD medicine kept me from gaining any kind of weight
