I wish I shared your optimism. This is the least confident I've felt in 15 years I think.
Pedey and Ellsbury, if healthy, are the only sure things.
Victorino in decline
Napoli a year removed from a career year
Salty is just Salty, k machine
Middlebrooks has to put it all together
SS is a fricking mess
No true ace. Questionable rotation.
God dammit

My thoughts too, but we will be beasts in 2015.

I won't be surprised if we make a big trade this year

Bradley/Bogaerts 2015
I'm just ecstatic I get to watch opening day without being forced to like Kevin Youkilis. Hope he has 4 backwards Ks to whine about Monday.

If they make a trade and Webster or Rubby are in it ill be furious. If Xander or Bradley are in it, I fricking quit.

Home grown players are where it's at. I'm tired of this big fish, out bidding bullshite.

I hate Boston but I love the way they ran the team from 03-07. Reminded me of the Yankees great years in the 90s. Solid base with money spent in the right places.

I agree. That's when they let their farm system help them. They weren't trying to keep up with the Joneses. Theo said in an interview that toward the end it became more about making the splash that building a solid team.

I'm happy with the FO really focusing on getting back to that, having a top 5 farm system like we use to will be big.

ellsbury, pedroia, lester, bucholz, bradley, middlebrooks, igleses all home grown !

thats a possible 6 out of 9 and possibly with nava in the other corner could be 7 out 9 id say thats a pretty good farm system

The most Iglesias will ever be is a seat warmer for Bogaerts. I actually think Bryce Brentz could be a surprise. Like a better Nava in a couple years.

Released Sweeney tonight... looks like Bradley Jr will start the year with the big boys.

This thread will be mighty light compared to previous seasons.
