Yankee fans who have never been to NYC vs Laker fans who have never been to LA

Which do y’all think there are more of?
I am on the lakers side
NYC easily gets more visitors
More than 4x the opportunities to go to games with double the amount and over double the capacity; tickets are much cheaper
(Motivation for fans to visit)
Also the lebron effect yields millions of random laker fans
Edit: also the NBA is the more popular league and the lakers are the undoubtedly most popular team, whereas the dodgers have surpassed the yankees in MLB

Like F1 fans who pull for Ferrari but dont own one?
Or Manchester United fans who have never been to a game?
Why is this such a big deal? Not everyone has the means to see their favorite team in person to be a "true fan"
Quit gatekeeping like a twat

All the diehard Laker fans on here have never been to L.A.
I think wesrcoastag said he passed by staples when his parents house got foreclosed on and had to move to Miss

Thank god the Cubs won that World Series because the nationwide Cubby thing was insanely annoying for a while. Yeah, I understand some of that was driven by WGN.

Spending more than 5 seconds of your life pondering any of them is sad.

It could be worse and you could get finessed by the Pelicans organization into buying tickets to watch generational talents get wasted. (On number 3 currently)

I'm lucky I'm from a city with pro sports but I wonder what I'd do if I lived in say, Mobile, who do I cheer?

Probably more Laker "fans" here in the Atlanta area than Hawks fans.

Actually they are the same people!
They are also Duke basketball and Alabama football fans.

I went to the Cowboys/Chiefs game at Arrowhead; does that mean I’m licensed bandwagon the Chiefs? I hate the Chiefs, btw

You have both of these groups in the same city - Lafayette. They also like Alabama, but the closest they have been to Tuscaloosa is Gulf Shores.

They've started to slowly disappear but I was starting to see a decent number of Bama decals, bumper stickers, etc. in Oklahoma.
I would bet sizeable amounts of money that 90% of them have never stepped foot in Tuscaloosa let alone attended a Bama home game.
