ESPN
quote:

Starting next year, the XFL will have all its regular-season games and playoffs air on ESPN and other networks owned by The Walt Disney Company as part of a multiyear agreement, it was announced Tuesday.

Beginning in February 2023 and continuing through the spring, 40 regular-season XFL games, two playoff semifinals and a title game will appear on ESPN, ABC and FX, it was revealed at Disney's upfront event.

The deal also includes content rights for Disney's digital, social and streaming outlets, like ESPN+.

I hope your bodies are ready.

Partnering with a football league that has failed twice should fix Disney!

XFL likes talking to five year olds about sex and thinks Amber Heard is totally winning her case.

O wait that is Disney. But also now XFL? Who knows.

I actually think XFL 2.0 was going to make it. I watched and enjoyed it way more than USFL 2.0 or the AAF. Covid killed it.

I do agree that XFL 2.0 was actually entertaining and decent football. But if I remember correctly they were having issues making payroll even before COVID was an issue so I don't think they would have made it still.

I cannot understand why these companies continue to dump money into these football leagues.

Everyone on this board always says it would have worked if covid didn’t end it but they had a drop off in viewership each week, The final week didn’t even hit a million. At the time it was said that they would need around 1-2 million just to remain viable.

Went and found some numbers from week 5 (right before the shut down) 2020

quote:

The ESPN rating theis past weekend (HH), was 14% below prior week's ESPN2 rating, which ain't supposed to happen.

ESPN XFL viewership from Sunday: it averaged 833K with a .33 adults 18-49 rating

I mean. They have enough money to where it won’t hurt. So why not take a gamble?

Your comment is dumb.
