Langford, 22, entered Friday with a .388 average, .446 on-base percentage, 6 homers and 19 RBIs in 49 Cactus League at-bats. The Rangers selected the outfielder out of the University of Florida with the fourth overall pick in last year's amateur draft.

First time in awhile the top 3 picks are quickly producing at the next level.

As a Rangers and LSU fan, I was really hoping the Rangers would select Langford at 3rd overall, considering Skenes and Crews were pretty much set in stone at 1, and 2. Watching Langford in school, you just knew his bat was special.
The Rangers lineup could be ridiculous for the next 5-10 seasons with all of their current talent.

Carter is starting. He'll be the every day left fielder.
Langford will probably DH most games unless they move Taveras. If that happens, Carter will move to center and Langford will take over left.

I got skewered by the Lsu baws last year when I said he was the best player in the draft. He will be a better pro than crews and I think crews will be very good.
