Are you talking about the AQ1010A board? The Q10 was totally counterfeited on the river, why would he bet? I guess the guy with the AQ was hoping for a bluff after he checked the river or that the other guy had an Ace and he could reraise him.

Crazy to think we almost had the day over on the first hand when they went to 10.
Maceiras is on tilt, and getting pushed around now looking scared.
Still hoping Aguiler can double up and make the 9. He’s been playing pretty solid minus the QQ call.

Calling the winner of the main event the "world champion" of poker has always tilted me. It's good marketing for general audiences but patently absurd.

Tiny Lewis had 8+ mil career tournament earnings. Jachtman is a high stake plo player with close to 2 mil tournament winnings. Weinman is the typical unknown pro who grinds cash games. I don’t know the rest.

There were 10,000 entrants and maybe 500 of them were "notable" names you would recognize.
The skill gap between the best pros you've heard of and the anonymous ones you haven't is also pretty small to be honest.
As the wsop grew the recognizability of the players was way decreased.
