Why are you being dense? Did you watch the lakers series at all? It was up to Dwight Howard to take control and be the #1 guy and the spurs made him quit. That's not someone I want to build a team around.

Link for Kobe quitting please

I think I'm being quite logical.

game 7. 2006 I think. Against the Suns.

He's bizarre disappearing act in that game is well documented.

Correct.

eta: Funny thing. The 3 players that are constantly mentioned on this board have all had playoff disappearances. LBJ vanished in game 5 or 6 vs C's in his final Cav year, Kobe vanished in game 7 vs Suns in 06, and MJ vanished in game 5 vs Pistons ECF '89.

All 3 of these quitters would get signed by any team on any day in their prime.

compared to what options? no compared to lebron, durant, or probably paul

yes, compared to almost every other player.

he's a self-centered bitch. AKA a professional athlete.

That's the reason?

Most superstars across all sports are divas, some still win.

You could easily argue that Kobe is a diva, he did ok with teams built around him lol.

Lebron, same thing.

Dwight Howard is a clown not a diva.

Pretty sure you're mistaking not playing well for vanishing.

Lebron's final game with the Cavs against the Cs he put up 27/19/10 including 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in the 4th quarter.

I don't know how to go quarter by quarter on the MJ game, but he attempted 26 shots, so if you told me he took 3 shots in the 2nd half and looked completely disinterested and played hot potato with the ball, I'll agree with you.

I'm not sure if you saw any of those 3 games, but 2 of those were completely different examples, while I as 10 and don't recall the exact MJ game lol.

I can understand the logic behind answering yes to this question, and if I was a smaller market, losing NBA team, then I'd probably give it a shot out of necessity.

I wouldn't feel good about it, though. He has shown himself to be an absolute cancer over the past 2 years.

Could you build a championship team around Dwight? Absolutely. Would I want to? No, cause he's a bitch.

Yeah, putting up a trible-double, no matter how disinterested one may appear, does not count as quitting.

Kobe against the Suns was, "Alright, watch how bad we are when I don't play, frick you guys."

Now if you're an owner GM and your job is to maximize profits and also to win, then the decision is pretty easy IMO.

Not even. If you get a triple double by half or the 3rd then quit the 4th, he has a point.

But Lebron had a monster 4th, so...

I have no problem admitting he's one of the most unlikable sports figures I've ever seen.

I suppose that's true. Lebron had a triple-double in the finals against the Mavericks that everyone ignored.

That series is the only thing that Lebron has ever done to warrant criticism, IMO.

He's talking about G5. I think that's the game when LeBron hurt his right elbow and shot the FTs left handed. Everyone made the claim it was a phantom injury and whatnot, but he's re-injured it since then with the same injury. SO it was probably legit.

There are so many various reasons for it though. And most people just want to downplay how great Carlisle and the Mavs defended that series. They did a great job jumping in and out of zone so LeBron was constantly overthinking the game. Funny thing is, if Miami had anyone who could shoot in that game they probably still win the series. Or if they don't blow a 15 point lead in the Final 6m of G2, they probably win that series. Funny how small things can affect big narratives.
