You could easily argue that Kobe is a diva, he did ok with teams built around him lol.

Lebron, same thing.

Neither of them would have pulled that shite Dwight did last night. That was embarrassing.

It was supposed to one of the worst trades in NBA history at the time.

Dwight would only succeed on a team that let him run the show. Similar to how Lebron was on the Cavs. Get a GM that worships him, have a coach that wont tell him what to do, and support him with a bunch of 3 point shooters.

Given his role players or lack there of, Dwight was successful in Orlando.

And I'm going to assume that no one here thinks that Stan Van Gundy wouldn't tell him what to do.

you're probably trolling with this, but if this is truly how you feel i would hate to hear your opinion on the rest of the centers in the league.

Kobe demanded to be traded too. Just during the off-season. It might not have reached Dwight level, but it was a pretty big deal. He even demanded to be traded during an interview with Stephen A Smith, not even privately.

So...Kobe would never quit in a big playoff elimination game?

Is that the argument the poster was going for?

Uh oh...

The answers boil down to two things:

1) What do I already have-- that is to ask, does his game fit my established framework?

2) Will my fans likely rebel if I tank hard for two years instead?

If I'm a Golden State, yes; if I'm Milwaukee, maybe; if I'm the 76ers, no.

He's still better than 99.5% of the league-- but situations matter a lot.

Kobe is one of the greatest competitors in NBA history. Dwight is weak-minded. You can't compare their mentality at all.

First, what does that even mean? And how would any of us know anything about that, other than what the media tells us? I'm not saying one isn't more competitive, but it's just silly for us to speculate considering we've never met any of these players(not just kobe/dwight) nor have we ever seen any of their practice routines.

Hell, I would bet that the actual hardest working player in the NBA is some 12th man on the bench fighting for a paycheck next year, but you'll only ever see that title go to guys who are superstars.

Second, Kobe quit on his team in a game 7 of a playoff. That is well documented, I'm not just throwing some crazy thought out there.
