Stick Robert Andino in there at SS and you've got a team.

He was nearly a six win player in 2010 and he wasn't bad at all in 2011.

To clarify for 2011, I think he was dreadful before the break and awesome after it.

If we're only taking into account hitting than its gotta be BJ Upton. I mean, his stats aren't technically the worst (although they're close), but look at who is in that lineup. The dude routinely gets nothing but pitches to hit and tries to yank them over the wall but instead misses by a foot. I love the Braves btw

Ike Davis with his ole defense. Let the ball go and not make an effort. Send him to Las Vegas to work out the kinks. His head is not there. A slugger hitting 150.

Montero was sent to the minors.

Jeff Francoeur is usually a go to answer for this kind of question... but my God, has anyone looked at Victor Martinez's numbers? And he's so defensively worthless, he can't play the field.

Was my answer.

Though he's raked since becoming a Met.

Except he does not really suck. He is an okay ballplayer with a cannon.

He's hitting 221/259/321 with an OPS+ of 57.

Last year, he hit 235/287/378 as a corner outfielder and still got over 600 PA's. I mean, what is our standard for "sucking"? Because that seems pretty f'n awful. He's also a net negative defensive player, but people think he's good because he has a cannon. So does Nellie Cruz. He sucks defensively, too (worse than Francoeur).

He was good two years ago. He is not someone who has sucked every year of his career.

If he's not terrible, then BJ Upton is a Hall of Famer.

And I've seen you rip BJ plenty.

Frenchie used to dominate Georgia high school baseball and it is sort of a local legend. I will always have a soft spot for him.

I just want to believe he is good.

He's sucked pretty consistently. Yes, he posted a 119 OPS+ in 2011. The previous year? 85. Before that? 93. Before that? 72.

He's a corner outfielder who can't hit. I feel I'm taking a pretty non-controversial stance here. One pretty good year sandwiched in between five bad ones is pretty much the mark of a bad player.

BJ Upton's OPS+ in the previous three years, BTW?

109, 114, 106. So... better than Francoeur, and that's before we get into defense and the base running.

As a Braves fan, I used to love Francoeur.

I still love how hard he plays. His all may not be much, but he's gonna give it to you.

I will say that Francoeur is one of the most likeable players on earth. It's why he's been allowed to hang around as a starter for so long. He's a genuinely good guy and people like him. Hell, I like him. I wish he was a better player.

That is bad, but nowhere near worst. BJ has taken suck to a whole new level so far this year.

At least with Francoeur, as with Dan Uggla, if you throw them a fastball they can straight up mash it, they just can't hit off speed. So at least pitchers have to work a little bit against them.

You could probably get BJ Upton out right now. He reminds me of a guy on our district rival in high school. The dude thought he could straight rake, so you just throw him high inside fastballs and watch him cork screw himself into the ground trying to hit it 500 ft.
