quote:lol you played with him and so that solidifies he's good. stfu i've seen enough of his play in the WSOP and WPT to come to my own conclusions. obviously what i said was a little harsh but he's by no means as good as you are making him out to be.
dude, you judge "pro" players way too much...moneymaker is a class act, and a pretty good player as well..ive sat with him several times, and ive seen nothing to prove he is a donk.
what do you have to go by? a few 20 second hands you saw on espn?
get a clue man

you also hype alot of these live "pros" too much, and dont give enough credit to the younger online studs that have been killing poker tourneys for the last 3 years non stop...
if you wanna be an up to date poker fan-boy you need to learn some new names to talk about...here, i'll give you a few that are already way better than many of the live pros that you idolize
dan kelly
faraz jaka
andy seth
justin bonomo
steve gross
yevgeniy timoshenko
shawn buchanan
issac haxton
vanessa selbst
jeremy gaubert
and so on

lol
ive palyed with him..ive also seen him do very well in big plo cash games....i make money playing poker...you watch it on tv and talk about it...
my opinion is miles more competent than yours when it comes to this subject...trust me..

faraz jaka
im very familiar with Kelly, Haxton, Seth, and especially Bonomo

haha...ummm, the dude is the 2010 wpt player of the year..he has also dominated online tourneys for several years..

and he may very well be a GREAT PLO player but from what ive seen in NLH he's nothing to write home about.

everything you see on tv is heavily edited...producers have a large say in who you feel like is good and who isnt..
ive seen it for hours from 3 feet away...ive played some really good players...i think the "mm is a donk" thing that the media and message boards plays up is a little inaccurate..
- your opinion is 0 until you play against a few of these guys, or at least in a tourney of substantial value..
my opinion meaning nothing to you would be like me telling kbeezy that his opinion on mma means nothing to me...

and btw you came in this thread swinging your big ole balls because you play poker for real money when this has nothing to do with anything. your opinion is just that, an opinion. if faraz is a great player then GREAT! i'm happy for him! he's succeeded in life.
and the truth is i'm not as "up to date" with players as you are because i have a life, and i work, and i go to school. i don't have time to immerse myself in that lifestyle so please excuse me if i'm a little behind.

haha..
i have a college degree, a masters degree, and a real-life job...
i also happened to play poker for a living(which i dont do anymore)....ive been around a bunch of these guys(so has tt22, and blanoix), so i think my opinion is pretty valuable when the convo of "this guy sucks" "this guy is awesome" comes up..
you, on the other hand have some pretty strong comments for someone who has never even sniffed the rio...

Biggest douche in poker, IMO. (and a cheater)
I'll add:
CTS
Krantz
Andrew Lichtenberger
Ansky
Jeff Williams
Vanessa Rousso -
I tell the same thing to my retard friends when we talk about this: there's obviously a fanboy aspect to watching poker. When you're used to picking a certain person/team to root for in a televised competition for aesthetic reasons I guess it's natural you to perceive the "enemy" as a bad player, etc. It's reasonable to dislike the guy for whatever reason, but realize that what you see in an edited program doesn't include metagame and past history all of the countless factors that go into playing "correctly."

i think he's a douche as well..he did cheat online, but you cant argue with his results in the live game..he was one of the first online guys to make a big splash...

He used multiple accounts at the same time in online tournaments.

i run so fricking bad at the rio..
Ive played 20-25 events there with 0 cashes. I started playing wsop events when we were super turboing every event in the 1500-2k buy in range with buy in = chip start so that sucked but you can give me 2x chip lead on the field going into day 2 of one of those things and I will find a way to get fricked and bubble.

damn....im 0-7 in bracelet events...i had 70k in hour 4 in the one helmuth won 2 years ago(good for top 5 stack), and some douche 4 bet shoved on me for 60k when i had AA...he had AK, gg me...
the only success i had at the wsop in vegas was one 2nd chance tourney...i made the final table and got it in pre with AA vs AA..the other dude made a straight flush with his aces...again gg me, fml

Phil Laak up there in chips. I thought his marathon session would've burned him out this summer. I guess he spent most of his time off of tourneys since the world record.
