Moneymaker, despite being teased by other pros for a while, is a better player than Jamie Gold..probably rates over Varkonyi too. Doyle and other pros are on record that Moneymaker has improved his game in following years. Doyle never publicly badmouths people, and he called Varkonyi's play "amateur" on ESPN.

I could've won the WSOP with the processional of paint that Gold had hand after hand, and his chip stack made for one of the worst finals ever, only established pro and small-stacked Allen Cunningham even took shots at Gold at the final table. The rest played for silver..with Paul Wasicka emerging clearly a better player than Jamie Gold despite finishing 2nd and closing out the table of mostly unknown noobs..and these following years have made it even more obvious..Wasicka>>>>>>>Gold.

I stayed up and watched the whole thing live on a mirror site..Gold either had dominant paint going in, or sucked out at a record rate..never saw a luckier champ yet..not even close. Sure he played well, and talked, and intimidated quite a few players into folds, especially once with that castle of chips..but he also was so lucky.

Moneymaker admittedly sucked out quite a few, but bluffed Farha, in an important hand that would've swung the stack the whole other way in his WSOP win..he beat a pro at his own game..made Farha fold a hand he'll always regret.

Ya'll see this hand from Day 1:

"Alejandro Quattrini and Scott Herd just had a super rare occurrence happen over at Table 295 in the Blue section of Amazon. First, Herd raised, Quattrini reraised, Herd moved all in and after some time in the tank, Quattrini folded pocket kings face up. Herd showed him that he made a good laydown, tabling two aces.

Just ten minutes later, Quattrini raised to 400 from under the gun before Herd reraised to 1 ,050 from the hijack seat. Quattrini moved all in for 22 ,675 and Herd went into the tank. "You know what, I'm going to return the favor," said Herd as he tossed pocket kings into the muck face up. Quattrini showed that he had two aces."

Either some damn good reads/laydowns, or two guys that dont want to put all their chips in the middle this early in the ME. I'm usually a tight player, but not even sure I'd make those laydowns.

my fav was the bubble last year and a guy had KK with two other people in the hand and one moved all in and he said "i won't be the bubble boy" and folded his KK face up and the other guy just showed a K

He had KK at the best, most likely AK.

Always makes you feel better when people think it's funny that you just got killed. I like that everyone at the table was laughing.

07 I had a great start to the ME before dinner break. Ran starting 20 up to 72k by 730. Came back from dinner and didnt do anything but was still one of the bigger stacks in the room. 1am I got crippled on a j1010xx board against JJ by the one player withing a 10 table radius who was close to my stack when I had J10. Guy at my table thought it was funny and I litterally wanted to break his face. He and I had some words and at one point I actually said the phrase "do you want to take this conversation outside"

Did you qualify online for the ME?

I have to play in it at least one time in my life. If I cant qualify online, I better start saving!

dude, you judge "pro" players way too much...moneymaker is a class act, and a pretty good player as well..ive sat with him several times, and ive seen nothing to prove he is a donk.

what do you have to go by? a few 20 second hands you saw on espn?

get a clue man
