Is there really a 14 page thread about the World Series of Poker on the More Sports Board?

never been impressed.
Never been impressed is quite the statement. Jaka has one of the most brilliant poker minds in the game today. No doubt about it, he is one of the last people you want to have at your table.

Do people still feel like this in NLH tournaments? I think most pros get to a point where they stop giving a frick that ____________ is at their table.
ETA: This post is more of a personal distain for Holdem and what it has become

I certainly can not speak for everyone but deep stacked deep in a tourney, yes there are players you would rather not have at your table and I dont think that changes with time. Sure people can adapt but players like jaka/djk/gross etc are going to make damn sure you never pick up a tendency, all the while applying relentless pressure. I can think of about 1 million players I would rather have on my left than Jaka.
What has holdem become?

I have 25% today and 10% tomorrow. Player B > Player A but I had to fork up 1k for the 10% and 250 for the 25% so im rooting hard for a good day today.
On a side note I can't stand that I have missed this tournament 2 years in a row now. There is nothing comparable to playing it. I couldnt even play a fricking mega this year cause there would be Zero chance I would be able to go if I won a seat b/c of work.

He's actually playing this year huh? He has been pissing and moaning to me for the last 4 years about how he has to play in it __________ whatever year it is

I can understand rather having people with zero imagination or are only there because their AK has held every flip to get them deep but I wouldn't be afraid in my own ability to pick up tendencies and change my game around to play with anyone and I am pretty much a nobody in the tournament poker world. The game has become so basic and scripted that "brilliance" is really over used for anyone playing NLH. Really I just can't stand the game anymore. I jumped ship on NLH a few years back when I started seeing everyone at any cash game table I sat in was playing the exact same.
PLO is >>>>>>>>>> NLH and is where you really see players who are leaps and bounds above their opponents skill level.

Johnny F***in' Chan!

Johnny Chan raised to 800 in early position, and he was called in two places.
The three men took a flop of 3h-Qd-9s, and the small blind led out with a bet of 1,100. That folded the big blind, but Johnny Chan promptly raised to 3,100. His opponent snap-reraised to 12,100 total, and Chan called.
The turn 2c drew a tiny bet of 3,000 from the small blind. Chan instantly raised and his opponent instantly shoved, and Chan called, well... instantly. He turned up QsQh for top set, and his opponent and his KsQc were drawing dead and eliminated on the 4h river.
With that, Chan has moved his way toward the top of the board with 130,000 just as the dinner break approaches.

When we arrived at the table the board read Ks-9c-Qd-3c and Chau Giang fired a 7,000-chip bet. Antonio Esfandiari popped it to 15,000 and Giang moved all in.
Esfandiari called and tabled KcQc, Giang showed JcTc.
The river brought a Kh to the table, giving a full house to Esfandiari, Giang is out of the tournament.
