I was watching the game last night but before the game started there was, I think, a slow motion scene where Maddon was talking to Baez, I believe, but I didn't have the volume up and was on the phone. Does anyone know what was that about or it wasn't anything of purpose?

They said that Maddon had him working on letting the ball get deeper and hitting it to the opposite field.

He did roll a ball into CF and another dribbler that Kipnis made a good play on. He was trying to work The middle. He's just swinging at wayyyy too many pitches outside of the zone.
I'm going to go out on a limb tonight and say that Baez is going to sting a ball or two tonight.

Two pitches that were perfect third strike pitches. Basically middle of the zone pitches that were called balls. If those would have come back to hurt us I would have not been ok.

I was a bit exasperated on that one. Watches a perfect strike, waves at a breaking ball three feet outside the zone, and then watches a perfect strike.
