I’m more interested in seeing the ones for RBs and corners.

What’s the worst confirmed one we can remember? Didn’t Frank Gore have a 6 because he is severely learning disabled?

The test doesn't see their skin color. Maybe doing poorly just means they're dumb.

I love when guys from schools like NC State outscore guys from schools like Duke because academic prestige is terribly overrated.

I'd agree when we are talking about athletes. Good schools make some concessions when it comes to great recruits.

Apparently the answers are Mo Claiborne with a learning disabled 4 and an Iowa State RB named Darren Davis with a non-asterisk 4.

Biggest surprises:

Will Grier: 30

quote:

Gardner Minshew: 42

Grier does not come across as a guy in the 30s and Minshew with and the stage I would have likely predicted around 25 or 30...not fricking 42...thats nearly perfect.

Well, Claiborne said that he blew it off when it wasn't about football.

quote:

"I looked at the test, and there wasn't any questions that came with football, so I pretty much blew the test off," Claiborne told the Dallas media Thursday.

He told SiriusXM NFL Radio that he only answered 15 to 18 questions on the 50-question test.

"All the talk that I was hearing about the Wonderlic is that it's just not that important," he said. "Everybody I talked to, even coaches and all, they were like, 'That test doesn't mean nothing. That test is not going to declare where you go in the draft, or nothing like that. So if they don't have any football on there, I'm here for football, so what?"

Claiborne's words make a lot of sense, and his attitude certainly didn't hurt his draft stock. The Dallas Cowboys traded up to No. 6 to draft him, a move that "shocked" the LSU product.

ESPN article on Wonderlic and its importance:
LINK
quote:

A 2009 study by professors from Fresno State University, the University of Georgia and Towson State found no connection between Wonderlic scores and performance during the first three years of a player's NFL career. The group studied 762 players from the 2002, 2003 and 2004 draft classes.

John W. Michel, an assistant professor at Towson University who co-authored the study, told The Washington Post: "We found in no cases was cognitive ability related to [football] performance. We did find a negative relationship for tight ends and defensive backs. For defensive backs, it was the most pronounced; basically, the lower you scored on the Wonderlic, the better you performed."

I feel the worst for Riley Ridley. Not only does he have to be in Calvin Ridley's shadow on the field, he also scored lower than him on the Wonderlic. You know he's going to get grief for that from Calvin.
