from everything i've read, it doesn't.

it's been pretty heavily reported that the NBA constitution (which is secret) only contains provisions to take over a team/remove an owner if financial issues are in play.
There is language in the constitution regarding something to the effect of an owner doing something to adversely affect other owners or the NBA, and it could be argued that this falls under it.

Whines that no one will move on.
Immediately starts a new thread on Chris Paul being racist.

He wasn't fricking a black tranny because he can't get white women. It's because he's a crazy person.

Let's hone Occam's Razor here for a minute. If the above is true, maybe he was just racist and said enough things to offend even her sparse morals. Maybe she released the tape to TMZ to expose him. I think it will become more clear over time.
occam's razor also says if this is the worst shite she had on him, after being his "archivist" with hundreds of hours of talk recorded, then holy shite he's not THAT racist. like i said yesterday, the comments are like a 3.5/40 on a 0-10 racism scale (With 10 being racial genocide and 9.5 being racial-based slavery, with 0 being a society wehre nobody judges anybody else at all based solely on race)

I can't imagine Silver would do this so early in his job, unless he wants this to drag out for years in court and ultimately be removed from his position
Good info from Lester Munson, says the opposite of what a lot of guys in this thread are saying

that's why it almost assuredly be will be litigated, which is NOT in the NBA's interest
but the bigger story (and a bigger one than sterling's actual comments), would be how that ruling opens pandora's box

Stiviano was being sued by his wife for embezzlement as a result of the gifts given to her by Sterling. This is something the wife had previously done with another of Sterling's mistresses, sued her for a return of all gifts and property given by Sterling. If anything, the release of the tapes was a power move to get the wife's lawsuit dropped.
Seems to me Sterling needs to get control of his woman. Why the hell is wife going around suing the women he's screwing? That's bad for business and makes her look just as deranged as him

but the bigger story (and a bigger one than sterling's actual comments), would be how that ruling opens pandora's box
But it seems that they can envoke some broad languate to bring it to a vote if they wanted, which means theoretically, he could lose his team over this.

Thats irrelevant and in a minority league thats preposterous
Posted on 4/29/14 at 8:54 am to shel311
munson ignores history. the NFL's CBA is as final as teh NBA constitution, and those concussion lawsuits are still around
Posted on 4/29/14 at 8:55 am to shel311
why would they bring it to a vote, though? that would be worse than anything b/c owners would vote no...and be called racists
Posted on 4/29/14 at 8:56 am to SDVTiger
that was a joke, and the players have waived any butt hurt by not speaking out about sterling years ago

Honestly, I'm not sure it's what most people are assuming. Releasing the tape to TMZ would not help, and in fact hurt, her in any civil proceedings.
Let's go conspiracy theory for a minute. She takes pictures with Magic to piss Sterling off, records his rant, refuses to sign confidentiality agreement, releases his Rant, and all the while Magic is sitting in the background wanting to buy the team. Maybe Magic is in on this and is using her recording and the wave of public outrage to boost his chances of Clippers ownership!

The players haven't waived shite.

quote:I dont think they would, but from reading, it sounds like it only takes a written request from 1 owner to get to a vote?

Also, on the same note, I know it would have never happened, but it would been epic to see both the Warriors and Clippers protest game 4. Neither can forfeit, and the league can't punish the players due to the backlash they would receive. That woulda been some serious stuff there.

quote:There is a level of hypocrisy(probably not the right term, can't think of the right word at the moment lol) coming from Doc Rivers and Chris Paul, though. Hard to argue against that.

I'm not saying they should keep their mouths shut or not be upset...but they knew of this guy's history and still chose to go to LAC.

This whole episode reminds me of the chickfila anti gay marriage fiasco. I still eat chickfila
I guess I realize that people can have differing and opposing viewpoints from me and I can move on with my life.

Look at my post from last nite on this subject in the LJ thread. This is dangerous territory we are on esp. Considering I've felt public had too much power with a weekly firing or forced apology I'm really against illegal activities getting someones buiness taken away for having a legal private opinion. Its such a sketchy road and people so want to have their pitchforks ready the bigger picture is never looked at.its much bigger than an old racist and promotes censorship and devalues real discussion which is only way to truly change a persons perspective. forced apology and punishments only make people in the middle pick a sidendrefuse to budge.
Have to take emotions out and quit punishing people for thinking different ly
I worked over tbird pretty good socheck it out
