Yeah that was pretty messed up. Klay's knee had to be swelling up by the time he made it back on the court to shoot his free throws.

I keep reading people saying that these guys will now stick with the warriors because of their injuries but I see this being in their favor. If I am Klay or Durant, I ask for a super max deal. If the team refuses in Durant’s case he is out most likely all next year. He can go sign a one year with any team knowing he is out and then sign a max contract.

In Klay’s case if it is torn ACL he is most likely out until around January-February, same thing. Sign me a max deal or I can just go do a one year with another year. Teams would do it too.

If GS wants, they could do the double all-buy in; offer Klay a 4 year deal, and Durant the max, and hope they're willing to burn a year to come back with this squad. Let Draymont go, and target next year's better draft pick for replacing him. Spend this year and next replacing the older complimentary parts with younger players.

It isn't ideal, but I bet about 20 teams would willingly switch positions with them tonight.

not sure who Draymont is, but as far as Draymond goes, he's the most important cog of the entire wheel... he does all the little things that allow the other to have open 3 point looks, keeps them from having to play close to the rim as much, and he's one of the only lockdown defenders in the league... they can afford to lose 1 of the other 3, out of KD, Klay, and Steph, but they absolutely CANNOT replace Draymond... it is so understated and undervalued, what he brings to that team, in that system of play...

One of the very few likeable guys on that team.

frick. That sucks, honestly.

I hate the Warriors but freaking love Klay.

My understanding is ACL injuries typically are not a big deal to recover from nowadays unless their was structural damage which seems highly unlikely given that he was moving around pretty well after it happened.

It still sucks for him and he will probably miss half of next season but he should get back to 100%. The achilles is a different story.

Klay joins Lakers.
They still don't make playoffs.

He would just opt in. What team is signing him for more than the minimum on a one year deal next year?

KD’s and Klay’s injuries are not nearly of the same magnitude though. Klay has a very high probability of coming back at 100% of what he was. The odds are not in KD’s favor to return to his pre-injury status.
