Wisenhut, tight coaching costs Cards the game

The Cards weren't aggressive until there were 10 minutes left in the game. At that point they immediately shut down the Steelers offense and then promptly did what they do best. Lined up in the shotgun, slung the ball and scored quickly. Once they got the lead, they got tight on D again and Pitt was able to make the last TD.
If the Cards come out on offense and sling the ball early on, and play aggressive on defense, they win by atleast 20.
As poor as the refs were, the coaches lost this game for the Cards. They played right into the Steelers hands by sitting back on D early and trying to get 2 yards a play on O early. Even with this poor gameplan, they still almost won the game.
It's a shame that Wisenhut didn't allow his offense to lay it all out on the line for the whole game. They could have put on an offensive clinic, much like they did on their last two scoring drives.

I agree, they waited too long to get Fitzgerald involved.

i agree. they tried to play like what all the experts wanted.. i understand the importance of establishing the run but they were not themselves until the 4th Q..

the Steelers were having their way with the Cards o-tackles and I didnt understand for the life of me why the Cards didnt go no huddle from the first drive and try to wear the steelers defense out
with 10:00 left they went no huddle and and ate the steelers zone defense alive. I agree whisenhunt cost them this game by playing it too close to the vest

yeah the 2 OL in the game last night were not what you think of when you think "super bowl offensive line"
the only reason the steelers' OL wasn't abused all game was because the refs let them get away with murder for about 75% of the game

#69 for the Cards O-line was getting beat like he stole something.
I think what really hurt the Cards last night were penalties. I really don't think playcalling hurt them as much as penalties and the fact they couldn't protect Warner long enough for him to be effective. He kept having to dump it off or get sacked.

Edge, Hightower and Arrington could have each had 7 catches for 100yds a piece if Warner would have kept throwing the swing passes
but when the cards spread the field and went no huddle, the steelers couldnt do anything with them
and SFP you are right about the Steelers O-line. They were shite all year and last night they were allowed to play like the 80s era 49ers O-line by the reffs and they used it to full advantage

I'm going to disagree here. The Cardinals should have been up 14-10 at the half, but their overaggressive playcalling at the goalline was responsible for a 14 point swing.
That was the ultimately the difference in the game.
Tomlin played it close to the vest as well - he completely pussed out on 4th and inches from the goalline on the Steelers' first drive. 90% chance they score a TD if they go for it there, and even if they fail they've got the Cards on the 5 inch line. to me, that was by far the worst coaching decision of the night.

I disagree, Lebeau had the perfect call and it worked, he bunched the line, knew the Cards couldn't run because they were out of TOs with 18 secs left and he faked Harrison into a rush and dropped him into a passing lane on a zone blitz. Lebeau completely fooled one of the best QBs in the game. He deserves credit for it

Not to mention that Pitt was in 5 DB sets all night, and Zona didn't go to 4 wides until that last drive. That's why Fitz wasn't involved until then. They were doubling or tripling him every single play.
I kept yelling the whole game how they needed to go to 4 wides, and the second they did, they started dominating. Couldn't believe it took them so long to do that.
