McGahee lowered his head as well. I think it was a clean hit.

Helmet to helmet is often unavoidable when tackling, just like it is when linemen are blocking. A flag would have to be thrown on almost every play if that was the case.

No, leading with the helmet....using the helmet as a weapon...he didnt even try to wrap up

You are suppose to be getting tackled

Please give us the proper tackling technique when a 225 lb man is running full steam at you and ducks his head at impact.

No he's not, he's clearly angled across McGahee, if McGahee didn't freeze up he probably would have been a step ahead and Clarks facemask would have still been upright like it is in the top picture......If Clark has his arms out ready to wrap up, he's basically making a textbook tackle.

So when two linemen butt heads while blocking, one should be flagged?

exactly.

I'd love to know what he was supposed to do, just lay down and let McGahee run over him so he wouldn't offend the sensibilities of these fricking softies.

I would say the stupidest thing you could do is put your crown right into him. He's lucky his neck didnt fracture. I wouldnt have a problem with it if he would have tried to wrap up. But all the tackle was, was a hit helmet to helmet

Was it just me or did anyone else find it obsurd that they were blaring CCR, Matchbox 20, and Kid Rock while they were attending to a possiblt seriously injured Willis McGahee? I thought it was completely classless and don't recall ever seeing anything like that.

Pittsburg's organization and fans are not classless. Far from it.

You want classless? Try Philadephia, not the organization but the fans and the media. They would have cheered when McGahee stayed down and would have thrown beer bottles at the ambulance taking him to the hospital. And I'm not joking.

No, but if a lineman is going around and headbutting people in the facemask...then yea....

this is a totally different situation

are you fricking serious? Have you ever tried to wrap up someone with that short of a time on arrival? They were basically racing to a point, that's how you hit someone in that situation, there was nothing dirty about it.

So you think helmet to helmet is illegal every time? Who told you such a thing?

It's only illegal on a defenseless player. You want to put flags on football players?

Not a cheap shot at all. He was trying to lead with his shoulder but it just didn't end up that way.

As far as the music goes, it would have been more awkward and tense in the stadium if there was ten minutes of silence. Probably an attempt to maintain some sense of order in the stadium.

Im just saying shoulder on body...arms up and wrap around...and drive.

But his arms are in...head out front...

IN MY OPINION its was a stupid tackle

I'm guessing you never played football. What you are suggesting is impossible in many situations.

Football is violent. It was a violent, but clean it.
