Bet you they'll be fleecing the public for a new indoor stadium within 20 years claiming they need Super Bowl money and it being harder to attract free agents.
Buffalo is just finishing a billion dollar new stadium right now They aren’t getting another one anytime soon

Those teams want super bowls
And since the stadiums are all being built with taxpayer money, it makes more sense to spend that money on an enclosed stadium because it allows for a lot wider range of events to be hosted there besides just football games.

Does the opponent have any recourse if there’s a retractable roof and the home team opts to leave it open during a blizzard?

I don’t mind the games in cold, wind and rain, but when the field has so much snow on it that you can’t see the field or hardly move on it that’s when a roof is needed.

Well Buffalo's building the new stadium now it should be open for next season and it didn't have a roof so you're right for at least the next thirty to forty years

with climate who the frick knows... according to Hollywood we need to move to greenland

Thats why Trump is really after it

I wouldn’t want to be in the stadium in freezing cold weather though.

If you're properly dressed it's no big deal.

A bonus of a snow game is pussies don't show up and you can move to seats between the 40s.

I mean I honestly wouldn’t want my tax dollars being spent on a $4B stadium when you can build one with a roof for $5B and bring much more economical return for your money. It’s not just one Super Bowl. It’s final fours, elite 8s, concerts (think how much money these huge tours like Taylor swift and Beyoncé bring in that are never happening outdoors but too big for NBa like arenas), monster jam type events, etc

I just don’t envision them getting a Super Bowl either way. Might as well lean into what gives you a home field advantage

The NFLPA should be demanding that any new stadium is built to accomodate a natural grass pitch a'la Las Vegas and Arizona.

Houston had a tray system that was great until they ditched it for God awful turf.
