I find it hilarious that people seem to be ok with paying a fee and still not getting the games.

You’re like the final LGBTQ boss. Aggy and Dodgers fan

But yeah, he could just pay for access. Still dumb blackout rules if the intention is to grow the game.

The blackout rules are dumb, but there’s a very available avenue for him to watch the games that costs $99 a year that he’s simply choosing not to pay for. That doesn’t have shite to do with the blackout rules

nobody is saying that the current blackout rules arent excessive and or that someone in memphis should be considered in market for like 7 teams

but someone living in missouri should obviously expect to be considered in market for the royals and even then MLB is offering avenues for people to watch royals games so idk whats the issue here

The reason blackout rules exist is to entice the home team fans to buy tickets. The blackout is lifted once the game becomes a sellout (or at least 85% tickets sold 72 hours before kickoff

I can’t believe people still think this.

If you have T-Mobile you can get the mlb pass for free. Wont help with blackouts but it's free so that's better

Just buy the home team package for about $99.

You want to bitch about blackout rules, move to Iowa. The state doesn't even have a team but are blacked out of Cubs, White Sox, Cardinals, Royals, Twins, and Brewers. That's 6 teams, and maybe you're not even a fan of those teams, maybe you're a Reds fan. Well, you can't watch Reds games against those teams.

I know so many people from Iowa that have given up on MLB.

Wouldn’t the Royals still be blacked out in KC?

No. Buying the home team package and there are no blackout rules. New thing.

Is this in addition to the $199 or whatever it is I pay every year?

I'm kind of hoping the OP returns to the thread to confirm that he finally understands he can get Royals games if he pays $99 instead of $199.

But yeah, the blackout rules and subscription fees are still nuts. It costs $20 a month for White Sox games on the Chicago Sports Network app, which I hate paying to Jerry, but I don't have a cheaper option. And at least I can cancel if the Sox are giving me the urge to drink bleach by May.

So for $99 you get access to whichever team you’re blacked out from?

That’s not a bad deal at all if you don’t care about watching any other teams.

it exists specifically for the royals. you would have to look into each other team individually but MLB is offering $99 for only the royals, or $199 for both the royals and all other out of market games irregardless of the team

I just looked at packages and the Braves also have this available for $199 so I’m assuming most other teams do as well. I don’t care enough to change my vpn to check

Interesting that price varies based on team apparently.
