With everything going on, high school sports is pretty low on the shite to care about list.

No
Our local high school basketball team (Wylie Texas) made it to the 6A state championship for the first time in school history, the state cancelled all sports right before their game.

I agree. Just asking opinions . I am a high school
Umpire and it has been a big hit financially as many others have also been hit financially.

Probably not, but this model shows no deaths or hospitalizations by the end of April in Louisiana. If that verifies, they could have a shortened playoff by late May.

I don’t think that you will see the spring season start back, but I think you do see summer ball start on time. I assume you umpire summer ball games as well? I know we used to have a lot of the same umpires.

Same here, miss the field.

Yes. Pay is actually better during summer ball. It’s also a lot hotter!

I'm a HS soccer referee and it's been a big hit for me as well. Georgia cancelled all their school and spring sports last week.
The HS soccer referee payroll in GA is about $1 million annually (including the playoff $$). Baseball is probably close to that number as well.

No big deal for select all make playoffs anyway
It’s not over yet but getting back to school will decide it

State powerlifting meet was supposed to be the week they shut down everything. We had several kids who qualified. They dont have access to the school facilities, and with health clubs shut down they can't train on their own unless they have a home gym or know someone who does. It would take several weeks at minimum to get back to competitive form. And their coach has left for a job in Texas.
Meanwhile the baseball kids are still practicing on their own a little bit. I dont know how motivated the seniors will be to play late into the summer while they're getting ready for college, if not already enrolled in summer classes.
